This is a really stupid **** up but it's not like the Rockets are taking it back because they changed their mind. That seems to be the attitude Nene has taken here. Their should be some anger at the incompetence but this wasn't an insult by the Rockets. Is he not allowed to take a 4th year by any team? Is he looking for a 3 year contract with the same amount of money as the 4 year one? That doesn't seem like a fair compromise on our end. It may be necessary as a show of good faith but it also may be more money than we need to be paying him.
Fix this problem before too late. Nene was one of the best roll players last year, full time or not. Get it done, Morey.
Anybody can offer him 4 years. The problem from the Rockets side is that the deferred money from the 4th year is too much for them to afford this season unless they use it as part of their $8.4 million MLE. The reason this is so personal to Nene is because he wanted more money from the start. When the Rockets asked him to take less money to help them keep their full MLE, he said he would do it. So he decided to agree to a 4 year, $15 million contract to help the team. Except the Rockets screwed up. It actually hurts the team too. So now Nene is stuck looking like the greedy person when the whole reason he had the 4th year was because he wanted to help the team.
I don't care if we send Dadakota with a bag full of LE$ money, to circumvent the cap. Just get it done!
Just saw on ESPN scroll, we offered Nene 3/$10 mil after the 4 yr was blocked by the league. Any official word on this? Was this offer made after the PJ signing?
That offer was made this morning, when they found out the original deal was not in their best interest. That was when the whole "Nene is back at square one in free agency" became news. Nene refused to sign that deal.
Ok they need to pass the collection pate around the locker room to make up for Nene's lost money. We need him back. Guys are making a lot of money and probably spending it on dumb stuff.
So if the MLE is now gone what can we offer Nene? What exceptions do we have left? I don't want to lose him.

Thanks. So I guess the S&T would be with our tpe aggregate still leaving the MLE. Just hope Nene comes back. Although if that means no Shumpert that also means no Ryno/Love/NY trade either. Just as well. I don't want to lose CC either.
