How many ****ing power forwards do you need I'd rather go with Anderson, Beasley, Harrell before nene

Another old-school Rockets feel signing (washing up, bigger name). I swear Carroll Dawson is back running the show again. No upside players, no darkhorse players, no high ceiling players - no Morey players (yes I realize we chased Nene 100 years ago).
My reaction to this would depend on his role and his pricetag. I think he's done as an impact player, but if he's cool playing 15 minutes a game then he's a better backup center than I was expecting the Rockets to end up with. If we're starting him or giving him 8 figures? Ugh.
Nene is a center and he plays defense. Rockets need those guys too. Remember, Rockets have to be able to try to guard guys like Marc Gasol, LaMarcas Aldridge etc. Considering who else is available, Nene is a good get. Though I haven't seen the contract terms yet.
Looks like Room Exception. Great value! <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Sources: Nene deal: 1-year, $2.9M</p>— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/WojVerticalNBA/status/750752774397239296">July 6, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
It's baffling to see people say these aren't Morey signings when each player signed so far is someone he has pursued in a significant way in the past. My favorite is the one that Ryan Anderson is not a Morey guy. He has been trying to get him since the summer we signed Dwight.
I've always liked Nene, and the Rockets desperately needed a veteran backup big who can defend the low post well for 15-20 minutes a night. He also put up some really solid numbers in limited minutes last year (16.8 PER, 56.5% TS%, .120 WS/48). But I was really hoping they could get a guy to crash the glass, and Nene is definitely not that guy (13.2% career TRB%). The Rockets are really going to struggle rebounding next season.
