I've been out of the pc gaming loop for a while, but I've been wanting to get the new Skyrim game, since I don't have any consoles. My laptop is fairly new, but want to be sure I can run it well to see if it's worth getting. I think my specs are pentium 4, ram, 320gb harddrive, intel media accelerator. Let me know what you guys think!
You just spent a grand on a chip that is at the very least two and a half years old? "Pentium 4 was a line of single-core desktop and laptop central processing units (CPUs), introduced by Intel on November 20, 2000[1] and shipped through August 8, 2008" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentium_4 With an Intel video card? That's a 300 dollar laptop.
What make/model is your laptop if you don't mind me asking. Didn't even know they still sell comps with Pentium 4.
Patch it. Crack it. Set it to the lowest settings and you're Skyrim hopefully should look like this and playable on a P4.
Pentium 4's are really old and out-dated. Are you sure that's your CPU if your laptop's fairly new? Also, integrated graphics can never do 3D well. You need an integrated ATI or nVidia chip, not integrated Intel. The Intel graphics chips on laptops are practically 2D-only, as far as I'm concerned.
Why don't you just download some more RAM? I'm sure the game will work with this increase in performance.
