That's interesting. Fear and Loathing never comes up whenever people mention their favorite DTS tracks. I'd be curious to hear how good it sounds. It does reportedly have some missing or messed up dialogue however.
Not really what you asked for but I couldn't believe the info this site had on Maize farming. http://www.cimmyt.org/english/webp/research/maize/index.htm
Well, it's just the only DTS movie I have. Tonight I plan to watch my live Nine Inch Nails dvd in DTS and see how that sounds. What are some others that are considered good for use with surround sound? I have heard Saving Private Ryan at my brothers house and that does sound unbelievable.
We got the Panasonic widescreen 57" and I have some of the same issues when the picture is stretched to both sides of the screen. This will be taken care of when I get an HDTV satellite receiver.
Yeah, I know the HD will look good but won't that only solve the problem on HD channels? The majority of shows still don't broadcast in HD, so I think it will be an issue for awhile. We are thinking about returning this system and shelling out the extra cash for a Sony Grand Wega or Samsung DLP. Since they are still based on projection though I wonder if they will have the same problems
My favorite DTS audio demos are: Saving Private Ryan DTS Black Hawk Down DTS(Region 3) Terminator 3 DTS(Region 3) LOTR: Fellowship EE DTS 6.1 The Region 3 Black Hawk Down DVD will work on U.S. machines if you wanna import it. Otherwise, just wait for the Superbit which is due out in June. T3 unfortunately will work only on region-free players. For whatever reason, WB won't support DTS.
Oddly enough, here's a list of dts movies... http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19190&highlight=dtses Hope this helps out.
