not sure about the legality or whether your insurance will cover but... have you thought about going to India or China? hope you find a donor. good luck.
I know you didn't have bad intentions, but I hope you feel like a complete idiot now, cause you are. To the OP, I'll be praying you find a donor. Best of luck to you.
Crap, I'm a ****ing idiot! I'm so sorry OP! It just hit me that was just an asinine and lame attempt at bringing humor into a bad predicament. I sincerely hope you accept my apology. Best of luck in finding a new kidney and hope all is well! Get well soon!
tierre_brown, if you are serious about finding out more, I will provide you with more information or get you in touch with my transplant coordinator. Asidd, don't worry about it, I have been on this bbs a long time, have seen worse. Thanks everyone for your prayers, and spread the word, there might be someone who is willing to donate, and it surely is a lot to ask.
I hope you find a healthy kidney! So sorry that our health reform sucks in this country. Maybe with Obama in office, he will make it easier and more affordible for people like me and you to find better health options.
This would be an awesome story for some newspaper or News station. Something positive for once. Man saved by a fellow online ClutchFan forum buddy. P.S. ASidd_1990 you are on my ignore list. You are my first. Feel special.
Guys, please help spread the word, I will document the whole experience/process about how Clutchfans.net save my life if I do find a match here. Anyone in China who is willing to come to San Antonio/Texas for a kidney donation is welcome too, I will cover your travel expenses, and my insurance will cover the whole medical bill. Thanks!
I think what the poster meant about China/India was something most likely illegal, like purchasing organs, or get organs from executed criminals. Your insurance probably won't cover something like that, but there are many desperate wealthy people do this every year. Wish you will be able to find a transplant and everything goes well.
If someone wanted to donate but had a different blood type, could they donate to the "pool" if you were guaranteed the next proper-blood type kidney in the "pool"? Not sure how it works.
O yea, the program is called a paired-donation. If I found someone who is non-matched for me, the transplant center will pair me up with someone who is in the same situation, and all 4 people will go into surgery at the same time. For example, if I (type A blood) found a willing donor (type B blood), the hospital will pair me up with another couple who has a type A for a type B recipient. Basically, it is a donor swap situation. Thanks, good question!
Hey op, I'm a b type so I can't help you, but out of curiosity if you don't mind me asking, but non of your family members aren't a match for you?
This is a hereditary/genetic condition, my brother was tested, but he is having a similar problem. My dad already passed away and my mom is over the age for donation.
