My wife teaches at an all-female gym here in Austin called premiere. Then there's Curves. She wanted to teach at Gold's and the YMCA, but I didn't feel comfortable with her being around other guys in her aerobics outfit. She got over it.
That was a joke, she also teaches at the YMCA and I don't have any problem with it being coed. Actually nothing about it ever occurred to me, but now that I think of it... I still don't care. I completely trust my wife.
There's a couple Curves gyms around here, I do believe they're for women-only I think its more a problem if a female WANTS to go to an all-female gym like that, moreso than the coed...Just as funny as a guy wanting to join an all-male gym. Men for as piggy and portly as we can get, even when we're in relationships we like that we're still able to get that liiiil bit of attention from women time to time. without acting on it of course... same should go for a woman, no double standard should be applied. You see the thread on Jennifer Love Hewitt's ghetto booty...Wouldn't you think her boyfriend WANTS her to go to the gym again?
I think you guys totally missed the boat on this whole COED gym thing. Its not that she is gonna sleep around>leavehim>pretty soon want the right to vote etc. Its that in the gym you want to concentrate and work. I think alot of women would rather not have the hassle of a creep staring at them while she is doing bent over rows in gym clothes. Also I think some women want to always look attractive to men no matter their current relationship status. ( Kinda like the way guys like to look at girls no matter their status. ) Which can also get in the way and take out the all about the workout attitude.
My wife was a trainer at a Curves for a while... and the main reason she got from women as to why they were working out there was to avoid being hit on or having to share the equipment with some sweaty, over confident men that were not considerate enough to wipe down the machines... Kinda like the Seinfeld episode, I know... I know. But true. I didn't care either way, fwiw... it's called trust.
I seriously don't understand why some people treat gyms primarily as a social place. I work out at the UH rec center and have never thought twice about the people on machines around me. Everyone I've seen there looks like they're there to work out, not "check out." It's a perfectly comfortable environment.
Yeah right. All the girls come in at peak hours hang out by the chrome weights. Wearing makeup and mostly talking. Thats place is crowded enough as it is.
I'd just be happy she's going to a gym However I cant really ask too much of her considering my ass is as lazy as it is.
Ummm what gym isn't co-ed? If you can't handle your wife going to a gym, then you shouldn't be married to her.
Your brother-in law might want to keep Joey Greco's numbers handy just in case! FYI: Joey Greco (CHEATERS)
There are some gyms near my place that have special women's only hours. Like in the middle of the day it is women only workout time. Kinda gay if you ask me.
Whoa dude, I like how you set us up to rip you and it was really your bro in law. Awesome strategy. Yeah, I would pretty much say that your bro in law in an insecure little b****. He has no right trying to control where your sister goes unless it is to a place that is obviously antagonistic to a committed relationship. For example, I could understand if he was upset that his wife was getting full body massages from a Puerto Rican named Enrique Suave but I cannot at all understand him getting upset that his wife is going to the gym. Most guys would be very happy about that. And if he was secure about himself, he wouldn't have any of these worries.
Pretty stupid, frankly. My fiancee has a 'girls only' happy hour at least once a week. When we first started going out, I thought it was a little weird, but just as the other spouses/boyfriends told me I would, I quickly learned to embrace those nights and even look forward to them. Hell, all they do is drink and gossip and talk smack about the other teachers at their school. Ideally, they will fall on nights when there's a Rockets game on (like tomorrow night, for instance) so I can watch in PEACE. She'll text me to tell me that some guys just bought them a round of drinks and we'll both laugh. It's not a big deal at all if you trust one another...
