so Ive been suit hunting for the past few weeks, i really like the new modern fits at places like express, zaras, j crew and the like, does any one have any recommendations on other places that have modern fit suits? i went to Men's Warehouse but didn't like the styles. im looking for a black suit something around $300-$400.

Try SuitMart or K&G Superstore; both inexpensive with large inventories.

i think the stuff i would find at suitmart/k&g would be the same as i saw at MW, i was looking more into boutique stores as they have more stylish, less conservative styles.

300-400$ suits are still on the cheaper side of suits, and Im sure ill be on that side for many more years to come. So the priority here isnt durability or even brand, but fit. A good fitting no name suit will look worlds better than a full canvassed suit 2-3x more in cost. Ive been wearing H&M suits I have relatives up north get for me, and tailor it here (always get this done). Average construction, but a good cut for 20 somethings. Other good brands Ive been told to start with: Hugo Boss, Zara, Sean Jean (yeah), Jones NY.

Luckily there is a big coupon for Off Saks in Sugar Land. Last time I went there on Sunday for their F&F sale, there was like a 100 person line to checkout. I just wanted a stupid hat.

Zara is good for that price range and that fit. I have a few pairs of pants from Zara, and I like them.

I'd suggest you try the 40% coupon available on slickdeals.net or fatwalllet.com and go to Off Saks...you may be able to snag a valentino or zegna suit in your size/price range.

Also, is the black suit for a funeral? If its for business, I'd suggest charcoal or navy.

Express if you're on a budget but like style. They got nice modern fitting suits with decent quality for under $250... Usually they have sales and you can get them for under $200

Off Fifth. You should be able to get an Armani or Boss for that price.
