I'm personally not a fan of Community or the American Office...both pretty overrated in my opinion. The Wire, Breaking Bad, and LOST are must-watch dramas. For comedy nothing beats Arrested Development. Also try the Larry Sanders Show.
Breaking Bad and Deadwood. Battlestar Galactica and Friday Night lights are also good but a step below the other 2.
Most of them have been said, but here's my list with MUST watch shows (imo) bolded: Breaking Bad The Wire Mad Men Newsroom Sons of Anarchy Fringe Community The Office Arrested Development Flight of the Conchords Boardwalk Empire Curb your Enthusiasm Game of Thrones Homeland House of Lies Suits Misfits Parks and Recreation Spartacus The Life and Times of Tim The Walking Dead Eastbound and Down Weeds The Boondocks
I don't see Damages on anybody's list. Great lawyer/murder/corporate greed show. It has some confusing flash forwards and flash backs but you get the hang of it. Glenn Close as Patty Hewes is maybe the best ever black/white character. You never know if she is evil or good.
i enjoy Damages i'm in agreement w/those who posted Breaking Bad, the Sopranos, the Wire & Mad Men but am surprised at the lack of love for Deadwood.
The first two seasons were amazing. I was not a fan of the third season. Hopefully the fourth returns the show to it's earlier form. I try to tell people about Misfits whenever I can. I heard that they were wanting to make an American version of it. I don't see why they just can't broadcast the original version over here. Anywho here's some more good (live action) shows to watch: Firefly Dollhouse Peep Show The Sopranos LOST The Office (UK) On another issue... Does anyone here watch Once Upon a Time? My gf thinks it's amazing and keeps telling me to watch it. From what I've seen on commercials it looks like crap.
Put of watching Breaking Bad and The Wire for way too long, both are excellent, we are about half way through season 5 of The Wire, greatness. Peepshow and That Mitchell and Webb look the latter for skit comedy is awesome. I've watched these shows a couple of times actually. Survivors is a BBC show which is great but got cancelled with a cliffhanger. Rome is still one of my favorite HBO shows even though season 2, last few episodes tries to wrap everything up way too quickly because the plug had been pulled. Boardwalk and Game of Thrones are 2 other shows I love to death. Weeds is still one of my favorite shows, we watched all 7 seasons last year in about a month.
Most of the shows I was going to suggest are already mentioned here... Shows that haven't been mentioned yet.. Supernatural American Horror Story
Just watched the first three episodes of Damages and not really a fan. Deadwood is awesome, but it ends way too soon. I got a friend watching it by showing him clips of Swearengen and Wu. LOL
