Dull. If I have to drive an SUV, I need to compensate for the last 5 years I've endured driving a grey mini-van. Spouse is going to give me a long leash so I need to strike. So far I like: Ford Flex Limited Dodge Durango R/T
To expand a bit more, you will be very happy with the leg room, even in the 3rd row. It drives well and has some nice features. The gas mileage is nothing special, ~20 in the city, ~24 on the highway, but is what I expected. We also like Fords and their bailout strategy.
If you want something that looks more SUV, you could get a Chevy Traverse or Ford Explorer. Same price range and has 3 rows.
How is this an SUV, much less has 3 rows? https://www.teslamotors.com/modelx I call that a coupe. Frankly, it looks like a cooler Prius.
I really like my Pilot and have used it to transport 8 adults comfortably. But you don't like the SUV look, so Flex seems fine. I've thought about the Flex and the only bad reviews I found for it were regarding inclines and off-road type stuff. So if you just want a cooler looking minivan with more power, the Flex makes the sense.
I stand corrected. But yea, I'm a parent with multiple kids and have a job, (which is why I need a big car) which officially qualifies me of rock living. It also disqualifies me to spend 100k on a car. That said, I can't see fitting 7 people in there. I'd have to see it to believe it. Those last two seats look like the back two seats in a sports car. Technically they are there but...
That's why I told you to do Uber in order to pay it off. See, if you had just listened to my complete advice all of your questions would be answered.
If you're willing to drive a van, we really enjoyed the previous model of the Honda Odyssey. Had an EX-L that carried 7 or 8 (the second row had a removable center seat that we rarely used - kept it in the garage). Super comfortable with leather reclining seats and lots of legroom. After the kids grew up and went off to college, and we'd put 150K on the odometer, we sold it. Got 20/24 town and highway. Can't speak to the newer model. Good luck!
Thanks all. Anybody that's ever owned a Flex seems to really like it. I think it's a done deal. Now I'm gonna wait until the 31st to see if I can find a desperate sales person.
krosfyah, http://www.edmunds.com/ford/flex/2015/review/ Pros Spacious and versatile cabin with genuine three-row space; refined ride; high-tech features; outstanding visibility; excellent turbocharged engine option. Cons Tech interfaces can be difficult to use; two-person-only third-row seat; standard second-row bench doesn't slide.
Leaving the gym last night some douche driving a white one tried to get rubber and failed miserably. I laughed and almost threw my water bottle. OP: I can see you chose wisely with Ford. The next step is to realize the only real choice is a transit connect wagon with ecoboost. Three rows and 35 mpg on the freeway. Beat that in an SUV.
