I'm gonna go ahead and blame it on his haircut. That, and the sleaze-stache. Just. plain. wrong. Or it could be the fact that he cried like a baby before the game was even over.
Well, a more energetic Swift is what they call him on ESPN. And, you never know, a more energetic Swift could be a star. Draft Projection: Top 10 Similarities: A more energetic Stromile Swift Positives: Big-time athlete who is getting compared to another LSU alum, Stromile Swift. Flies up and down the floor. Excellent rebounder and shot blocker. Unlike Swift, seems to have excellent intensity and has a better feel for the game. Nice touch on his mid-range jumper. Negatives: Needs to add a lot of muscle. Too thin to play the four in the pros and doesn't have the perimeter skills to move to the three. Doesn't possess much in the way of post moves at the moment. Summary: Early in the season we said Thomas has the potential to be a lottery pick down the road if he stays in college at least one more season. Scratch that. After he played so well the last few months, a number of NBA scouts are feeling Thomas as a potential high lottery pick this season. Funny how quick things change.
If Rockets get a pick #5-10, I wouldn't mind having Tyrus Thomas backing up Juwan, and Moving Stro to Backup Yao if Mutumbo Retires
"Unlike Swift, seems to have excellent intensity and has a better feel for the game." That basically wraps up the whole thing...
From NBAdraft.net... NBA Comparison: Kenyon Martin Strengths: Agile bigman with great leaping ability ... Feathery touch out to 12-15 feet ... Has a very nice turn around jump shot ...Spectauclar dunker, his explosiveness and quickness getting off the ground is unrivaled among college post players ... A super shot blocker due to his long arms and explosiveness ... Runs the floor well ... Huge wingspan ... Has good hands for rebonds and catching passes ... Plays with good energy, loves to dunk ... Extremely long arms plus great lift make him a monster on the boards and allow him to play much bigger than 6-9 ... Plays with great intensity, has an edge to him ... Excellent passer, great vision ... Great upside ... Weaknesses: Unproven, must prove himself on the college level ... Must put on a good deal of weight as he can be pushed around due to lack of bulk . He needs at least 20-25 pounds of muscle ... How well he weight trains and maintains his agility will be huge ... He's so talented he can get away with not hustling or working hard, so staying intense and focused is important ... Needs to become better conditioned, gets winded easily ... Has a bit of a hitch on his free throw shot ... He's a risky pick because it's uncertain how his body will turn out. Will he be able to add the weight? Notes: Redshirted his first year at LSU after sustaining a neck injury
You all fall in love with the flashy dunks and flashy blocks far too much. Too bandwagony. Can't see the weaknesses on this team...
man people were shooting off fireworks and crackers out here in westwood man the refs tried to screw ucla calling cheap touch fouls on the bruins and waving off the potential 3pt play and not really calling much on the zags. also every single play morrison drove he used his off arm to push off the defender and would lower his shoulder his a lot on the inside. he may get the star calls in the college game but he'll be out of the game in the nba in the first 2 mins if he does it as obvious as he did it here. oh man i am sooo pumped i cant wait for the game on saturday GO BRUINS!
I don't really hate the guy, but I can see why others do. He comes off as a really cocky, selfish, person (who also as the absolute worst mustache I can remember). Like I said, I don't hate the guy, but his display at the end of the game was downright pitiful. Sure, he wasn't the one that turned it over, but he took 2 very difficult/bad shots at the end of the game, both early in the shotclock IIRC, and the guy didn't even look at his teamates. And then you crY DURING THE GAME!! I can understand shedding some tears after the game is over, but crap, the game was not over. What a drama queen. While the other Zags were huddling up, Morrison was on the floor crying like a 3-year old girl, this game was all about himself, not his team IMO. I know it sounds harsh but I can't remember someone reacting that poorly.
Thyat's why he is not Hinrich. Hinrich and Collison carried Kansas to the title game 3 years ago (by beating Duke, Arizona, and wipping the Wade led Marquette) their senior season and JJ and Sheldon carried Dukie to the sweet 16. These two whities are not tough enough to be stars in the NBA.
Three of 'em! I'm still on a high after last night. I've got a splitting headache, working on 5 hours of restless sleep, and I'm still giddy this morning.
A lot of great games this year...Some observations: 1) CBS coverage sux ass...I know there are restrictions, but damn, switch or update to live games that matter...If the game is under a minute and is close, hook us up... 2) Brokeback Reddick...Non-factor...Where the hell was he last night...Unfreakinbelievable...My brackets are done... 3) Gonzaga: Adam couldn't do it all, but man, what a way to lose...Choke City II 4) Texas: what a great win... I can't wait for this weekend as its going to be fun...
