I got Memphis losing to Missouri Final Four - Pittsburgh vs. UNC and Michigan St. vs. UConn Championship - Pittsburgh vs. Michigan St. Champs - Pittsburgh So far I only missed 1 today and that was Northern Iowa, it hurt my bracket because I had them winning in the 2nd round too.
Ouch, I went for Purdue though. Villanova is about to lay a big egg right now so I might be with you in a bit.
Glad Nova pulled it out. I picked Minnesota over Texas, I have no clue why. So far I have only missed 2. Glad Michigan pulled it off, Manny Harris was balling tonight.
Well I got one thing right so far. Clemson's now 0-5 in the tournament under Purnell. I'll come back if I'm wrong about the Big 12. Besides A&M, I had all of those teams winning anyways. The one Big 12 team I think is good is Missouri; I've got them in the Elite Eight over Memphis.
Well the big XII is 6-0 in the first round so I think they've proved that they deserved to at least get 6 teams into the field. This next round could be a tough round for us given the top teams the XII will be going up against.
ETSU is KILLING Pittsburgh on the boards. I think Pitt underestimated their athleticism. They've got some players over there in Tennessee.
I think the Big 12 has done enough to legitimize itself as is. I was wrong about them earlier. They did deserve to get those 6 teams in. But hey how awesome was Cleveland State! I had them in the Sweet 16 in all my brackets, and all the leaders in my pool have Wake in the Final Four! Woot.
Too bad their offensive system was "whatever you do, do NOT pass the ball. instead, take crazy horrible shots and then try to get offensive rebounds." Amazingly, the strategy nearly worked! How they shot 25% from the field and 50% from free throws (and around 8% from 3-pt line) and kept is competitive is amazing.
Exactly. I didn't watch the game since Mizzou was on at the same time, but I saw the score at the half and went to check the box score, assuming that either Pitt was shooting 20% or ETSU had hit a lot of threes... but they were shooting 25% from the field and 9% from behind the arc, and were somehow right there! I wish I had watched because that sounds ridiculous.
Wow, that Pitt game was scary and pretty sloppy. I wouldn't be too alarmed for those that have them advancing far in their brackets, though. Granted, OSU (and any coach that plays Pitt from this point) are complete morons if they don't run a full-court press against Pitt. Despite having Fields, Pitt still can't seem to break a full-court press which is pretty scary. All the same, they should be fine. They probably underestimated a tough, scrappy ETSU team that came to play and left it all out there. I doubt they make that same mistake twice [knock on wood].
