My buddy went to Cal and he was telling me about the "White Mike Vick". And I keep telling him that Ayoob ain't no Kyle Boller. That's bottom of the barrel.
I just hope Aaron Rodgers is having fun riding the pine in Green Bay. If we had a real QB, we would've been pretty decent this year. Top 15 for sure.
Well I loved how the refs made an absolute GUTLESS call against Georgia by calling a bogus offensive pass interference penalty. That bull**** call wound up ensuring that Georgia had to kick a field goal instead of getting a touchdown to go only up by 2. And of course Auburn winds up getting a field goal on pretty much the last play of the game to win by 1. God I hate them and their prick of a coach Tuberville. Thankfully South Carolina won and Georgia can still make it to the SEC Championship Game by beating Kentucky. And best of all unless LSU completely collapses against Ole Miss and Arkansas, ****ing Auburn WON'T be in the SEC Championship Game. I guess it is safe to say that I am a little pissed right now.
and after that drive we then proceed to run the most boring offense in history the rest of the game. mack runs up the score about as often as mangino eats a salad. the only time i remember us doing something bad was a fake field goal from about the 10 yard line late in a game we were winning pretty big. and we scored a TD on the play. against tulane one time we had 66 points and the ball on the 5 and then took 3 delay of game penalties on purpose to avoid scoring. plus, the reason vince was throwing up 49 was because it was still the first half when it was 49-0. gotta get those heisman stats in before he takes a rest. i think he had 18 yards passing in the 2nd half out of his 281.
vj.. rice isn't harvard.. but it's a heck of a lot closer to its class than UT is.. that is why I put it in caps... that's like saying Stanford isn't Harvard and neither is UT.. so Ut and Stanford are similiar..
vj.. opps I read that wrong... No UT isn't OU or LSU.. but UT is no Rice.. not on the same level last year at a baseball game I had people telling me .. I bet you wish you had gotten into UT (umm I did ..).. It just seems a trend for UT fans to think everyone wishes they had gone there.. And I have no ties to Rice to make me defend them.. just an objective view from someone who doesn't attend either university
I don't want to derail this thread.. back on topic.. good win by UT.. auburn pulling the upset.. figured bama would lose sometime..
well it is the best overall university in the nation so you'll have to forgive us if it seems reasonable to think everyone would want to go here.
Yes, but do you know how condescending it is to read "but he went to RICE .. i doubt seriously he regrets not going to UT ... " Seriously, what the hell is that supposed to mean? I'm sorry, but it's like 5 in the morning, and my buzz is starting to wear off...I'm typing stuff I wouldn't normally type...That's pretty much an absolutely ridiculous thing to say. I understand you didn't attend UT or Rice, but I could totally see your having an agenda(Not saying you do, but...). Rice and Vandy are the same type of tweener school...private, nice endowment, treated well by the US News, but not Ivy, not Stanford, not MIT, etc... You're right...UT isn't Rice, Vandy, Emory, etc...Thank god.
I was kinda joking when I posted that Bigtexx wishes he went to UT, hence the I just posted that because of his obsessive hate for UT, every thread based on college sports will have Bigtexx bashing UT for one reason or another. Everyone has their opinion though.
vj.. I apologize... I didnt mean it to be condescending at all... I was just pointing out that he went to a top school.. so he most likely could have gone to UT if he wanted to I'm just making the statement that just because someone isn't a fan of a schools sports team.. doesn't mean they wish they had gone there... trust me people who go to schools like Rice are smart enough to know before they enroll that the sports teams are bad.. they aren't the types to pick a school based on sports As for a pro Rice agenda.. nah.. I just repect Rice because they don't sacrifice graduation rates etc for winning.. other than that I'm not a fan of them really I just think there is a lot of anti-rice sentiment... when in reality we should be proud to have a top 20 school in our city.. Only three other cities in the South can say that (Durham, Nashville, Atlanta) When bigtexx enrolled in Rice I'm sure he knew how awful the football team is
On a side note, I was actually bragging to someone from Ohio the other day about how Texas has one of the best public schools in America... Now go win a national championship, I want to be able to rub Texas having better sports than Ohio State in his face some more. .
Eh, I'm sorry...It was late, and I was semi-drunk...I was looking for something to take offense to. The first time I pointed it out, I just found it very interesting. Interesting, because many of the Rice students/alum that I know do regret their decision. This isn't a huge sample size or anything, but I know a fair number of Rice students(Probably between 20 and 25). They don't necessarily say they would have attended UT(Most did mention UT, others mentioned USC, Virginia, Michigan), but they did say they wished they had attended a larger, more diverse school. It's also interesting, because I know lots of people who got into Rice and not UT(Mostly private school kids)...it happens. More than you would think. Again, I apologize...sort of tactless.
I agree. But best overall university in the nation? Additionally, the cost factor is removed if you have scholarships.
