Well, here's the thing. My grandfather went to Texas and a couple of my aunts and uncles did, too. I grew up rooting for Texas as my favorite college team. First college football game I ever went to was a Texas/A&M game when I was about 12. Probably made a dozen trips to Austin for various reasons during high school (Round Up, etc). But I ended up going to Cal, so of course my alma mater is number one in my book. Last year's BCS thing pained me seeing fans of my two favorite teams snipe at each other for weeks. It sucked. I have no idea what I'd do if Cal ever played Texas -- I think my head would explode! But I still say -- despite the fact that we laid an egg against Tech -- that we deserved the bid and Texas didn't.
RICE? What's the capitalization supposed to emphasize? RICE isn't HARVARD, and UT isn't, I don't know, LSU or OU.
Well it was nice to see Florida lose to South Carolina. Now Georgia doesn't have to worry about winning both of their last 2 SEC games. All they have to do is win one of them.
I'm not sure who to feel worse for. The supposedly vaunted Kansas defense or the Kansas kick returners. The returners are getting pummeled everytime they get near the 20. 52-0 in the first half? I know it's KU and all, but Texas truly looks like the best team in the country right now. They haven't been scored on since the first half against OSU 2 weeks ago.
I'm all for UT destroying Kansas and all, but why is Vince Young throwing down the field (or passing, period) when his team is already up by 49?
It might have something to do with Chuck Mangino's comments last year after the game. Vince wants to make sure he doesn't have the ability to spout the same crap this time around. There ain't no conspiracy when your getting beat 59-7.
Houston is still bowl elligible at 4-4. and the schedule doesn't look to difficult. Next match up is S.Miss (4-3) on a short week. SMU (3-6). Ending with Rice (1-8). It's almost shocking with how bad our offense looked early on with the INT's.
They were trying to get Vince some stats for the Heisman race. They probably were also just getting some work done. You can't call it running up the score when its only the second half and beginning of the third.
Rice got their first win today. Good for them, I like Hatfield even though he used to kick but at Arkansas in the old SWC. Bobby Reid back at qb is gonna give Ok St a boost. The next great one out of Houston following up Vince Young. I wish he would have gone to TX, it would have been a natural transition following up Young.
damn i wish i was a betting man..... i knew LSU would beat bama. there was no doubt in my mind. i realy like bama, and it's great watching the traditional teams step it up this year (bama, penn, and ND), but some of those bama fans were becoming absolutely delusional. yall dont even want to know how many "bama's defense would SHUT DOWN Texas' offense" arguments i've heard.
I say that the reason why Vince Young was in the game as long as he was is because of Mark "******" Mangino's comments from last year. They even mentioned on Game Day today how much VY was upset by those comments. Big Boy needs to get a decent team before he starts running his mouth like that.
