Sports aren't played in a vacuum. Texas played Tech on the road in on the back end of a four game gauntlet that would have seen them become the 2nd team ever to beat four consecutive top 11 teams! They were hurt, emotionally drained, played in a terribly officiated game and still came within one catch or one second of winning. Meanwhile, OU lost to us, got to lick their wounds against Nebraska, A&M and the like, then had their tough games parceled out with bye weeks and high profile matchups to end the season.
Logically, there is no argument. 45-35.

man was it sweet to see that d******d move of going for it on 4th and 3 at your own 30 when down 32 backfire on the ags as they fumbled on the very next play and gave us the much better field position than a punt would have yielded.


sherman doesn't go for it on 4th and 1 down 14-0 when it was obvious the aggies had their first shot at some momentum but he goes for it on 4th and 3 from his own 30 in some sort of "hey, we've got nothing to lose so lets try to make it harder to run up the score and really show them" when down 32 and then goes for 2 on the TD (and fails again) to make it 42-11 for some reason. of course i think he also went for 2 down a bunch to baylor so maybe he just likes 2 point conversion practice. nevertheless, while i almost admire the douchebaggy "lets stick it to our rivals" aspect of those calls, that doesn't mean i can't enjoy seeing it backfire.

so we beat a&m worse than ou and kansas as well and beat ou head to head, but those games were a good 2 or 3 weeks ago and that part of the season is irrelevant so lets have ou go to the championship game. got it.

heh, trust me, when every single team you pull for is sorry as hell, you start to find happiness in the smallest things (ie: TU not going to the championship game because Gideon didn't hold on to the game-winning interception, also: TT not going either because of epic fail taking place against the mighty Sooners!)

Who is even saying anything about Tech? I see one reference by SamFisher in the last 4 pages.

And as SWTsig said...we're going to a BCS game -- likely the Fiesta Bowl if not the MNC. The only way we don't do so is if we go to the Big 12 championship game and lose.

 

Wow, is it really hard to imagine? Tech messed up Texas's chance at a BCS title. I don't think it's classless to have that bitterness while the season is still going on.

More importantly, The ONLY way Texas would not be in a BCS bowl is if OU and TTU lost this weekend, sending Texas to the Big 12 game and then UT would have to lose to Missou.

Texas will most likely play in Arizona and if not there, Miami.

 

I was hoping Texas would lose, as well as Tech and OU. Have a 4 way tie. Let the world explode.

I can't tell if TAMU will be good or not. Can Sherman recruit? Doubt it... I have never been a fan of bringing in the NFL coach (especially those that are better as coordinators) and letting them have control of a college team. Although I did want Mora Jr.

Very nice game. Also, I'm a huge OSU fan saturday because an OU loss likely puts the Horns in the BCS title game regardless of whether tech wins the conference. With an OU win it's a toss up on who goes to the conference title game and the NC game.

Voters are not all of a sudden going to place conference champ tech at number 2 after the 44 point beat down at the hands of a 2 loss OU team. But even if they did Texas would be number 3 in the polls and the fact tech played two FCS teams in non conference will kill them in the computers relative to UT.

The system is messed up, but that's what fans of college football get to work with right now.
