If anyone cares, another OSU (Oregon State) just kicked a FG on the last play of the game to beat Arizona 19-17 to keep themselves on track for the Rose Bowl ahead of USC. All they have to do is beat Oregon next week. A 50-yard bomb with less than a minute to play bailed them out.
It seems like people keep forgetting the fact that we lost to Tech. Tech could make the same argument, if they lose, that they should stay ranked ahead of Texas since they beat them. Of course, it wont work that way. The only advantage of OU winning is thier next game is on the road against OKST and they have a title game against Missouri. If they pull through that, then **** me in the ass.
Thank the immaturity that is Fatty. His "UT Hippie...Suck it...blah blah" rap all this week helped me root for their ass beating. This is beyond awesome. Graham is gone after this season. Taco Tech will be a middle of the road program again next year. UT will still be a 11 win team, as usual. Next week I will be the biggest Ok. St. Cowboy fan in the US. I might even try to find a shirt of theirs to wear for the game!
Yeah, true. Tech could make a strong case if they lost a close one to OU, but after this beatdown they are gonna get hit hard in the polls.
Compare losses (in order of best to worst): 1. Texas loses on last second TD on the road to TT. 2. OU loses by ten on neutral field. 3. Tech gets demolished on the road. Compare wins vs top teams: 1. Texas beat OU on neutral field, OSU/Mizz at home 2. OU beat Tech at home, maybe OSU on road 3. Tech beat UT/OSU at home.
The only way an Okie St. win would be great is if Tech loses to Baylor. EDIT: I guess it does help if you assume that Tech gets destroyed by pollsters, though.
I hadn't thought of that. So if OU were to lose to Ok State, they would have 2 conference losses and would be out. If Tech were to lose tonight but beat Baylor, they would only have 1 conference loss...and they won the head-to-head vs UT, so they would go to the big 12 championship...right? Or is the tiebreaker BCS rank and not head to head?
Right. Two team tiebreaker is head to head. BCS only comes into play when more than two teams are tied. I guess the theory in the previous situation would be that since Tech falls far if they get beat bad tonight it doesn't matter if they goto the Big 12 championship game and win because they won't jump UT. I'm not sure that would sit well with anyone but that's how it could play out. A Tech loss tonight and a hangover loss against Baylor would be very nice.
That was great: Commentator #1: "So. What do the Red Raiders have to do at this point?" Commentator #2: [After a brief pause] "HAhahahahahahHAHAHAHAHahahahah!"
So does anyone think UT actually has a chance to remain ahead of OU in the polls if they both win out? One of my UT buddies seems to think UT will likely stay ahead of them, but I don't see it happening.
I don't either They are Cleaning Tech's Clock . . this is a STATEMENT game and it is late in the year so . . this definately makes OU the Team out of the big 12 In this league .. . better to lose early Rocket River
Well.....there are 11 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter and OU already has their 45 points. Tech doesn't belong with the big dogs, they got lucky against Nebraska, caught UT napping at home... They are a good 2nd tier Div 1 program. As I said. DD
Yep. If Leach is looking for a reason to leave, he should look at the other sideline. Tech will never be OU (or UT for that matter) His agent should get on the phone with Tennessee.
