This really sucks. The best-case scenario for UT, in terms of the head-to-head argument, played out. It worked. Even on a week where OU beat the No. 12 team in the country by 20 on the road, UT pulled ahead in the AP and the Harris, and into a virtual tie in the Coaches. The argument was undoubtedly successful. Unfortunately, the computers -- the very thing that kept UT afloat for most of this season -- are going to keep them out, by virtue of a 57-yard field goal in the final minutes from Nebraska. Unbelievable.
The question is whether ou fans will be happy IF they get stomped in a BCS game yet again....just sayin......
Well Techs recruiting class is pretty much complete. (looks pretty good) Tech could win the rose bowl and it wouldnt matter if the team takes a few steps backwards next year.... I'm not saying a cotton bowl is equal or better than a BCS game. Sure I'd rather be in Tempe than Dallas Texas No argument there. I'm saying it doesn't really matter in the end. Everybody knows the BCS is a joke it says more about the system than it does about how Tech played. Am I supposed to be down as a Tech fan? Can UT really talk noise about Tech this season? Not really.(39-33)
The only hope that the BCS committee has to avoid a major controversy is for Alabama to win out and take the title. Any other result will have a team whose supporters have a legitimate gripe.
Auburn went freaking un-defeated a few years ago and didn't get to play for the championship. If that didn't change things, this certainly won't.
Well, any team that gets shut out will complain that THEY would have won if they'd gotten a shot. But I agree with you that that result is the only one that will keep the pitchforks and torches out of the mob's hands.
It's not like this is the first time this has happened. In 2000, the BSC ended up with 1. OU, 2. FSU, 3. Miami, 4. Washington However during the season, Miami had beat FSU. And Washington had beat Miami. Of course it all ended up mute as OU won the whole thing.
Not at all. Just because Alabama would hypothetically beat Oklahoma doesn't mean they would necessarily have beaten Texas.
