Off topic kinda....when do y'all think it the best time to resell tickets to the National title game? I remember the price kept going up for the UT-USC game, but that game was receiving all kinda hype.
Texas Tech got the shaft with the two per conf. crap...Texas playing Ohio State? Please...how ghey...Tx vs. Alabama would be better... Cincinati and Utah? BCS is crap... OU wins big...
This whole BCS thing is pissing everyone off. No one cares anymore. You might as well let me take them off your hands for cheap and get out while you can.
I might be able to hook you up with some UF fans that would take them off your hands for some decent scratch.
Too bad they couldn't match up Texas with Alabama. If UT were able to play Bama and destroy them, while OU narrowly defeats Florida (who just beat Bama but not comfortably), only then would UT have a chance at the AP title.
No they wouldn't. That is absurd. If the number 2 beats the number 1, the #2 is the national champion. Discussion over. Texas is not getting the AP title.
In the scenario I just posted, the AP would definitely give Texas some consideration. They would get some 1st place votes. Only question is how many.
Not really. If OU Beat Florida, and UT would beat Bama convincingly, there could be more than a good case made. Even now, assuming both OU and UT win their games, Texas a good shout at a split title (they won't get it, but they have every reason to complain).
Cool. I'm gonna wait a few weeks and then Ebay them first like you suggested. Someone else mentioned selling them on facebook....though I have never tried that.
Getting the AP title might be difficult. But they'll very likely get first place votes if OU wins. There are several AP voters who've gone on record to say that if OU wins, they'll keep Texas over OU in the polls (assuming Texas can win) because of the head to head victory. I wish I could find where i found that, but I read it a week or so ago. I'm not holding my breath at Texas having a great chance at the AP title. But, I guess it's not totally impossible. Just not very likely, either.
Yeah, reading my post again it makes it sound as if Texas could win the split. In my opinion, they have an argument, but almost definitely won't. It seems most people have gotten tired of the 45-35 argument and are now seeing OU and Florida as "clearly" the best two teams, relegating Texas to USC, Penn State also-ran status. As such, its pretty hard to imagine that either OU or Florida beating the other will lead to Texas being regarded higher than the winner in the polls, despite the rather easy logical step it would take to get there (if Florida wins close, UT could say they should have played them, if OU wins Texas says they beat OU and are thus the best team in the country). Don't see it happening though.
No, even better, they are going to Vegas. Great post BTW there is no chance Texas takes the AP poll. The potential for the split champion was out when Florida made the BCS title game. Texas could get some votes with either a Florida win or OU win, but only a few.
