Actually I went over to the one in Pearland right off 288. Anyway, I started my second season and manhandled Indiana. Next up is Kentucky and a pretty good shot at 2-0.
If you don't have something called an action replay, I don't know how you'll get the rosters on a memory card. The thing I love about XBOX is that if you mod it at all, you can easily set the XBOX up as a point on your home network. I can download rosters/updates off the net and just FTP them over to the XBOX.
hey guys here's a cool link to get custom NCAA covers for your favorite team http://www.gameroom.com/ncaacovers/middle.html and my personal favorite
I got my Action Replay at Best Buy, but you can probably get them just about anywhere that sells X-Box supplies.
Wow those are pretty good, can't beleive he even has one for South Eastern Lousiana University (SLU), they just got a football team like THIS year.
Got mine Tues. and love it, I like the Kevin Kolb cover, I work and play golf with Kevin's Uncle's. Kid is going be someone to watch this year.
Ok. First thing first, I have tried for numerous hours trying to find an Action Replay roster save that would work to no such avail. Thanks Nuggets4 for your help by the way. I now know more than I ever wanted about my Xbox, which may come in handy down the line. Back to the game. I have played this game now for approx. 20-35 hours. Whew!! I'm tired. Since I couldn't get an actual roster I went ahead and edited my players using ps2rosters.com link to the actual team page where I could get the accurate roster. I chose UNC after sifting through rosters for what seamed like hours trying to find a place that might present a halfway decent challenge. First off I use Heisman setting, and yes it is a biotch. I had a decent 1st year going 8-3 (conf 4-3). ACC is one hard conference. Even the bad teams in my conference can make things hairy for me. I'm glad I edited my team, because there is nothing I hate worse than seeing, "Touchdown by #12!" Arrgh! I played in the Outback Bowl against Colorado St. and won 35-28. Recruiting is whats makes the game this year in my opinion. I am so glad they tweaked it. I like the budget. My first year I went with a 35%recruit 40%training and 25%discipline. I had my discipline set high because I dont want any scholarships taken away so I usually overpunish so the NCAA looks the other way. I like the fact that there aren't as many blue-chippers this year; it makes them even more valuable. My recruiting strategy is this. I recruit the 4* and 5* prospects heavily my first two weeks and spread out the rest of my budget to fill needs. If after 2 weeks a 4 or 5 doesn't seem more interested in my program I usually cut my losses and go for quantity. By the last week or two there are usually a couple of blue-chippers that become interested because their target schools might have overlooked them; thats when I pounce on them and hopefully land another impressive specimen to fill out my roster. I like to go strong after a few athletes also. They sometimes get overlooked but can come in much handy. When you recruit be sure you have a plan for your team. What kind of team do I want? What kind of team do I have? Both valid questions. Coaching Strategy is a big thing most people overlook. I follow my strategy to the nail, while throwing in a wildcard in every now and then. My team is a run oriented offense that excels at play action passing. The running game is gold. Build a solid running team and you can compete with anyone. Now on defense I tend to be a ball hawker and look for the big mistakes. Sometimes I give up big plays but it rounds out in the end. I built my defensive line up that way I can consistently get pressure on the QB without blitzing. Because the Comp does use the passing game around 65-70 percent of the time. My second year I came in the season ranked 34th nationally. Ready to make my move. I like to set a strong strength of schedule normally A or A+. This season I went 9-2(conf 7-1) and hooked up against LSU in the Orange Bowl and I won 21-17 to end the season ranked 4th. Man what a season it was. Very strong performance from my Jr RB McGill. I also got a few key performances from a few freshman that I didn't redshirt. One of my freshman actual won the starting ROLB spot and finished the season with 5 sacks and 2 INTs. I could go on and on but I wont just wanted to tell everyone how much fun I've been having. NCAA football 2005, you ROCK!!
Ive got a modded xbox, so what exactly do i do now to get the updates? Also, can u load the draft class into madden 04?
Texas State falls in their opening game to Mizzou, 27-7. Held tough for a couple of quarters before giving up 3 late TDs.
Man, reading some of those forums on online play that's linked to in here sure makes it seems like there are a lot of loser/lamer NCAA players online. I think I'd trust playing with the guys here a lot more....
UH's team has one of the biggest punks at CB! I was beating #1 OU 21-10 at halftime, when CB #10 picked up TWO unsportsmanlike conduct penalties after holding a guy on 3rd down. Both first downs eventually ended up in touchdowns, and I barely won 28-27!
PS2Rosters are out. http://www.ps2rosters.com/NCAA2005.zip Linder should be mailing out the first set of mem cards today.
I'm in my 2nd season with Texas State. I play in the Big XII replacing Baylor naturally. I finished 2-9 my first year, one of the wins coming against Sam Houston. But I did a really good job of recruiting. I had the #17 ranked class. So now I'm 6-0 and ranked #22. I was 3-0 when I played A&M at Kyle and I barely won that one. I was surprised to beat Iowa State in Ames. But dammit if I didn't just beat #11 Nebraska 27-24 in OT. No way in hell I expected to do that. I made the cover and SI. Really cool. A cool feature I haven't seen mentioned is that the game will archive your greatest games. When I beat Nebraska it told me that I had the #1 Greatest game of all time. Of course this is only for games that I've played, not historical games or anything. Apparantly certain things determine "greatness" points. My game vs Nebraska was always close, the lead flip flopped, Nebraska scored late and I missed a FG to send it to OT. All this added up to 622 greatness points. I thought that was pretty cool.
I can't recruit for jack. I turned UH around to a 10-1 season, beating Miami and OU. I still couldn't get a single 5-star recruit!!! What am I doing wrong?
You a fellow alum? The greatest games feature was on there last year, but I agree, it's a badass feature.
This game got me the "greatest game" award thing too. Stupid CB#10 almost lost it for me though! I'm still
You're playing as UH. The Rodney Dangerfield of college athletics. I literally had to win the national championship twice in a row before getting invited to join the Big XII at the expense of a school who should have never been in there in the first place, Iowa State. Which is generous in itself, because lord knows schools like UT, A&M, and OU would never ever want us in the Big XII soaking up any Houston area talent, like we did for so many decades.
