I have no idea where I would find the ad. I'm in Austin and don't get any newspapers or anything like that. I need to do it ASAP before Best Buy figures out they raised the price.
Circuit Pity is also giving out the game guide at no additional cost when you purchase the XBOX, PSP, or PS2 game. Haven't read the entire thread, but I thought I'd bump with this offer to sweeten the deal.
I went a Best Buy in Austin, I printed out the coupons and they took off the $20 as advertised. You have to bring in the coupon or they'll call the store for a price check. I was a little nervous because she called the manager over, but he just had to punch in some authorization code or something. If you do it, I would go ASAP before someone makes them call a Fry's or something.
Ya I did, I brought the one from the chron.com and the scanned version from Donnymost. Thanks again guys.
I think some of the GH games will be Hot Shots Golf, Wipeout Pure, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Midnight Club 3, SSX, Ape Escape, ATV, Need for Speed UG, and Tony Hawk Underground 2. Note that some of those might not be $20 (3rd parties don't have to price them there AFAIK), and a few of those games may just be $20 but not in the GH collection (SSX, THUG, and NFS are already $20 I think). I'm just guessing they are since they sold pretty well and already selling for $20 may be a big hint (kind of like how God of War started selling at $20 a little while before it went GH). Also, you don't have to wait a week or longer for some games to go GH if you just want some $20 games. I think I've said this in other threads, but the last 5 PSP games I got were about $20 or less. I don't even think a single one of them will be in the initial list of Greatest Hits either. I'll go ahead and quote an earlier post of mine where I listed some cheap PSP games (only in the sports, strategy, and puzzle genres though): Note that EBgames.com has a 25% off deal going on right now for used games. Enter the code 'AFF25' and you can get a $20 game for $15.
Actually, the 360 version will probably blow the PS2 away in terms of graphics, so I'd hold onto that one if I were you.
I have the 360 version. I saw some pictures/screenshots of the XBox and PS2 versions and the graphics aren't even close. Not even in the same ballpark. As for the gameplay, it sounds like the PS2/XBox versions have a few more bells & whistles (the spring game sounds awesome), but honestly I'm not missing a thing in my dynasty. I have in-season recruiting. I have all the necessary stuff. The only thing that's really missing is the ability to edit what gear a player wears (armbands, etc.). And I think that's only for players that are already in the game (not sure, don't quote me). I keep hearing about all these bugs in the 360 version (like the blocked kicks) and I haven't encountered any of them.
cool, thanks guys...looks like ill be keeping my 360 version...now that thats settled, its time to fire up the old 360 and get my game on
i went to bestbuy and apparently im not the 1st person to try it. they said 'oh its 39.99 at fry's', they didnt even look at my printout. u have it hooked up to an hdtv? i have a friend who bought a 360, has awesome speakers/sound, but refuses to get a hdtv. it boggles my mind how people care more about audio than video, the point of x360 or ps3 is that you have games in 720 and 1080 resolutions, else whats the point? why not go watch vhs than dvd? why not write a check instead of using a debit card? why use dial up instead of broadband?
