Agreed. I have a way old sharkport that still works. I'll be getting roster files and putting them on my card sometime tonight.I have the PS2 version and I have always enjoyed the franchise, even with pass drops last year.
Has anyone picked the 360 version from frys? Online at outpost.com they have it for 47.99. Was that the same price at the store?
Plenty of copies remaining at the Austin location (Mopac @ Parmer) for $29.99. This deal should be available all week. I now own NCAA 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. This is ridiculous.
i picked up a copy from fry's today. theres a $20 rebate if you buy it at the store (it sells for $39.99). but hurry, i dont think there were many copies left
Anyone have the PS2 rosters in the College Station or Houston area that wouldnt mind me stopping by and copying the file? Sounds far fetched, but had to try...
How do people make these rosters anyway? DO they sit at home and name each player or do they you some sort of program?
They plug a keyboard into the PS2 and type each name in. I tried doing that myself a couple years ago. After about 3 hours I had only gone through about 5 teams and just gave up.
Yeah, there's a USB slot on the PS2. I bought this thing called X-Port. I'm not sure if they make them anymore, but it runs a cable between the PS2 and computer and you just transfer the roster file from the PC to the memory card. I think Max Drive replaced the X-Port.
I went to frys at 8, they didnt have any copys left. But i did get a rain check for the game at 39.99 so i am not too upset. Its good for me i have an organic chemistry test on friday. Any idea how to put the rosters on 360?
early impressions....I have the regular x-box version, and I like it a lot. Most notable would be the very detailed/ thorough playbooks and the special teams enhancements. I love the new angle for blocking kicks you can choose, and i'm really anxious to try out the new way to kick onside kicks. That seems a LOT more realistic now. The fgs/ pats are a little tricky, but it'll probably be fine once I practice with it more. The amount of roster mishaps/ errors still drives me nuts! It's such an easy thing to get right.... I know numbers change for players, that's no big deal if they let you choose to make more than one guy on each team a certain number. (For instance, somehow the numbers on Texas for Colt McCoy and Tarell Brown were switched, yet I can't fix Brown since Billy Pittman already wears #5.) Also, the errors in class bother me, too. How hard is it to figure out if a guy is a freshman, redshirt freshman, etc.? Wouldn't seem to be difficult to figure out and double check. But, of course, these are minor details. I'm kinda a dork about doing the rosters. To be honest, I name and "correct" as many of the players as I can because it helps me to get to know the players/ teams better in anticipation of the college football season. The new audibles are phenomenal....there are some button changes i need to get accustomed to, but I love all the defensive audibles/ hot reads/ etc. So many more options.... Back to the playbooks- Whoah....Try a team like Florida and see just how extensive their playbook is! And it's not generic at all- it's extremely taylored to the Urban Meyer style of offense. Might be a fun team to play with.... Anyway, just a couple of early comments. I'll write more when I have more time to play.
i took an ad from fry's to best buy and asked them to price match the $39.99 (after the $20 rebate)...the guy said "bc of this is 110%, youre getting even more off," so if you take a fry's ad into best buy and ask them to price match, you can get the 360 version for $37.99
Don't you feel silly being a grown man and getting so excited about this game every year? No? Neither do I. I have every version of this game since it was on PS1.
I suck at the new Maddens and NCAA Football series, I can only play blitz and tecmo super bowl effectively
This game is amazing. Other than the kicking, which I'm struggling with. BTW, I just beat Colorado 49-24... sorry Nuggets4.
Haha, come to think of it...I have a PS1 version as well. There's some pretty good features on the 2007 game: - more options on defensive audibles - close ups on big hits are a nice touch - TE #87, Texas, Neale Tweedie catches everything thrown his way - RB #25, Texas, Jammal Charles is a beast on this game, and it's much easier to run in-between the tackles than in past versions - QB #7, Jevan Snead is a good passer but throws a lot of picks - QB #14, Sherrod Harris is pretty quick on the option - OLB #2 freshman Sergio Kindle is the starting default LOLB - Quan, Pittman, and Sweed are all highly rated and do a good job Only thing that I didn't like was the kicking is a little different as you use the 2nd toggle instead of the standard wait for power to go up and hit X. BTW, I just beat tOSU 28-7 in AA mode. Henry Melton (I played him at FB) had 2 TDs, and Billy Pittman had 2 as well. Snead threw a couple of picks but made some pretty passes as well. Troy Smith was ineffective.
Quick question. Is Snead #5 the starting qb for texas? or is that mccoy. i played with the irish earlier and that team is nasty. quinn is a 99 and basically the entire team is stacked. one complaint. TCU should be ranked a little bit higher in my opinion. B+ is okay but i think they deserve an A-. Im probably a lil biased considering i go there though
QB #5 is Colt McCoy, and #14 is Sherrod Harris. You can rack up some nice yards running the Speed Option with Harris. Haven't used Notre Dame, but it doesn't surprise me that they'd put Brady at 99.
So, have they finally fixed play-action passing to where the play doesn't take 5 minutes to develop and it's not an automatic sack every time? Also, I hope they fixed the Heisman race to be more realistic. Seems like they always had an obscure player from some MAC team in the race when he clearly shouldn't be.
