UNC can't run with Kansas, time to slow then down with a lot of motion defense and taking it to them in the half court offense.
Haha yeah I'm having a hard time seeing it down 21. Kansas is pouring it on - UNC just looks flat on both ends. I thought UNC would lose to Memphis, didn't see a blowout here coming though. UNC just doesn't have the classic go-to guys like they did with McCants during their championship run. Plays could stall, but McCants was always a rock shooting it on the perimeter. I had hope that Ellington would develop the consistency and and killer instinct that McCants had, but he hasn't yet. Felton was also much more poised and polished on both ends than Lawson. It amazes me how much more physical the college games are vs. the pros. I can't count the number of no-calls in a college game that would be called in the pros.
Yeah....26 points in the hole. 38-12 with 7 min left of first quarter...... Nothing will save them even if half of Kansas players drop dead.
Will somebody please tell me what happened to the KU team that played Davidson. Did they stay in Detroit? And did the juggernaut UNC team stay in Charlotte or go back to Raleigh? Maybe they went home to Chapel Hill after the Eastern Regional final. 40-12? This can't be happening.
I had Memphis beating Kansas in the final of my bracket. everything is playing out perfectly. I should take home about $250. Not too bad
I like your sig. I couldn't believe those idiots. Carolina's gotta play 4 minutes at a time - it's not over, but they're going to have to really push it.
I think you had an excellent point this past Sunday about Kansas tightening up against Davidson -- that's exactly what I think happened. That's also what I think happened a year ago in the regional final against UCLA. Kansas has been victim to so many upsets in the last five years that getting to the Final Four was an enormous mental hurdle. Once they got there, a lot of the pressure was lifted. Also, I think college basketball is a sport where upsets happen when you mix contrasting styles -- such as Davidson slowing down Kansas and turning it into a halfcourt slugfest. The reason I didn't see UNC as having a good shot against Kansas is that they play a similar up-tempo style, but are far less disciplined in doing so.
So does Memphis's win help CUSA as a whole? I would think so wouldnt it. Or will they just end being sawyed away eventually like Marquette and Cincinati.
UNC starting to find the holes -- Kansas doesn't have nearly the intensity on defense nor in transition with the ball. That said, the problem with playing from behind against Kansas is that they play in spurts. They always have 6-0, 8-0 type runs in a minute or less based on hitting a transition three, getting a quick steal, etc. UNC still has a steep hill to climb -- and even one of those little KU spurts would probably kill them at this point.
Yeah but the more they climb, the louder the choking sound gets in Kansas' ears.. come on Heels! EDIT: BS charge.. ugh EDIT 2: Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! "It's like panic is setting in"
It's like they're playing Bucknell! I don't know where they came from, but I sure do like this version of the Jayhawks.
This would be a historic choke job if KU loses. We will be talking about it 10 years from now like it was yesterday. I hope this game goes down to the last play.
We need more spark.. Get the whole Bench involved Roy, send em in waves at Kansas and slow their ass down more!
