Was too late last night for me to post but WTF was Blake thinking by picking Xenia over Jared Blake and even Patrick Thomas?? I mean Dia was automatic and having a music career already (albeit somewhat unknown) hasn't hurt and add to the fact that she could be a sister to Jessica Alba and you can see the star potential in her. But I am sorry - Blake's excuse for picking Xenia was extremely weaksauce. Trying to "mold her" - give me a break? Her voice is unique but it is also grating to some (she reminds me of someone that I can't place the name..someone help me here). I don't know what was more comical - Blake picking Xenia over the obvious choice Jared Blake, Xenia's "excitement" (she was probably in shock but who knows with this chick), or Blake defending his decision to Carson Daley who like everybody else wonders if Blake Shelton is on drugs.

At any rate, both his team and Christina's team suck. Frenchy (or is it Frenchie) is overrated and I am not a fan of Bev. I have already talked about Xenia so out of the 4 that made it to the next round, only Dia has any chance of doing anything.

Adam's team is so ridiculously stacked that both Casey and Devon would be just as good or better than what is on Christina's team and half of Blake's team. You have to believe that Javier will go through (probably voted in but if not definitely saved by Adam) and so will Jeff.

Cee-Lo's team is also very good even though he has those annoying Thompson sisters (I'm sorry; I just don't think they are that good). Outside of them, you have Nakia, Vicci, and Curtis. I think Vicci makes it through for sure with the other spot between Nakia and Curtis. If I had to choose one, it would probably be Curtis but it is really close.

In the end, if Javier doesn't win this thing, I'll be shocked out of my head. But Jeff and Dia along with Vicci are pretty solid, as well.

I don't know how to voting system works from beyond this point but I think Blake picked Xenia just to ensure Dia keeps making it to the next rounds by having her go up against his worst member

Wow, I dont usually give the Tori and Taylor a chance, but they really brought it today. They still annoy me though.

Vicci was solid, but not exciting at all. Don't think she'll make it.

Team Cee-lo's performance was odd. Curtis did horribly. Hopefully his performance is better. Nakia was impressive though, and of course, Cee-Lo is Cee-Lo.

Nakia had the best performance so far, easy.

...And Curtis had the worst, easy.

Casey Weston is a star, plain and simple. Great stage presence and awesome voice. And hot. She didn't seem too happy with herself afterwards though.

Devin was not good. I was rooting for him too. Darn. There is no room for error on this show, especially if you're on team Adam.

Jeff was decent. Very difficult song to sing, and singing a Carrie Underwood song in general isn't a good idea. I'm pretty sure he'll move on though, just because he's Jeff Jenkins.

Loved, loved, team Adam's performance. He really knows how to use their voices. And I'll say it again: Javier is untouchable.

And one more time: Javier is untouchable.

Based on solely on this performance, I'd go with the Nakia and the sisters for Cee-Lo, and Javier and Casey Weston for team Adam.

I agree with Christina's decision. I'm surprised she didn't save Lily though. Oh, and Christina looks absolutely killer in that dress.

I don't agree with Blake's decision if he wants to have the strongest team. I guess he really sees something in Xenia I guess. Oh well, as long as my girl Dia is still alive

One last note. That stage is absolutely ridiculous. Probably the best I've ever seen. Major props to whoever planned and built it.

natalie merchant. she resembles her too. she's the 2nd best singer on the show, sadly. she wins it by default by being the only other person besides javier who is able to carry a tune. unfortunately, she has the personality of a lithium addict. the quality of the singers on this show could be equalled by any random night in a karaoke bar.

the good thing is, the ratings are good, so, like idol in its nacent stages, the contestants will come out in droves in future years, and the level of talent will rise.

on a side note, xtina can put on another 50-100 lbs, and she'd still have me drooling.

I predicted all the correct choices for both blake and xtina's team.

Team Blake: jared would have ended up being another daughtry/nickelback/hinder kinda guy anyway. Patrick didn't have a voice that i hadn't heard before...and i've heard better. So his best options were Dia and Xenia. Dia was a for sure pick and xenia is a risky choice but the girl has such a unique voice and so much potential. my only concern is will she develop enough by the end of the show?

Team Christina: Lily was just AWFUL and raquel castro didn't have what it took to go on to the next round. I personally loved beverly, but she's not going to be relevant and will go next. I'm not a fan of frenchie but the girl can sing.

Team Cee-Lo: Curtis and those sisters were horrible. really bad song choices from cee-lo which makes me think that he possibly was throwing them under the bus. either way, vicci has a great and unique voice. i'm not a fan of nakia cause he reminds me of danny gokey LOL very screamy!! My prediction is Vicci and Nakia will move on to the next round.

Team Adam: i had high hopes for devon but he didn't nail that song. devon is out. casey did a great job but i don't think it's enough even though jeff bombed his song. jeff was good and memorable enough in his auditions and battle round that he will move on to the next round. Jeff will be a great contemporary country artist. Javier is a no brainer. he exaggerates on his vocal runs...sometimes the most simple things are the most beautiful. either way, you can't deny that he has one beautiful voice and he evokes emotion. it made me want to run to the spca and adopt a puppy!!! My prediction: Javier and JEff.

She does look like her but I disagree about her sounding like her. She sounds more like a white Sade but that is not completely accurate.

This is going to sound she certainly has a a step behind the beat willie nelson sensibility.

But I think she sounds a lot like Edie Brickell

    I love Xenia's voice.
She clearly has a cool sound, but when I listen to her sing songs, it feels like something is missing. Like a song is an adventure, and she doesn't fully capture the journey. I'm sure that made no sense, difficult to explain. Still, one of my favorites, I expect she will get better with age.
I like her subtle personality. She's still young enough that the world is filled with such wonder. I love how you could see the genuine excitement on her face, when getting a new computer. :)

Dia...adorable voice, adorable girl. So cute, that's it's probably cliche to state how cute she is. Certainly understands music, good songwriter, creative.
I think I recall seeing her interviews on Warped Tour, and don't remember her being so shy. Perhaps, being around her sister and band made her more open.
    Another one of my favorites.

Vicci was amazing tonight. Best performance of the night. The way she was playing the drums, running around, and jumping yet wasn't affecting her voice was wonderful. Good performances by Nakia, Dia, and Javier as well.

My top 8 and tiered would have to be
    Vicci
    Javier
    Dia

    Nakia
    Beverly
    Casey

    Xenia
    Frenchie

Frenchie does nothing for me. And Xenia just flat out sucks.

Casey's rendition of I will always love you was the best I've ever heard, it was on par with Dolly's.

A lot of people on twitter hated it. Not sure why. It is too bad that she has to beat out Javier.

Probably because they've only ever heard the Whitney version... I prefer the Dolly version.

But Casey did a good job of walking that line to make it her own.

I'm almost finished watching... still have Vicci and Xenia to listen to (I think that's all that's left... Blake is singing right now)

Anywho.. I'm really enjoying the layout of this show so far. It's more about actual ability instead of a popularity contest.

Okay... so Javier, Dia, Vicci and Beverly are my top four.... since they have to be one from each team.

Really loved Vicci's Dog Days are Over... but then I love that song so I was a bit biased.

Javier is totally going to win this thing.

    My picks to move on:

    Javier

He's the best singer in the competition hands down. I wasn't necessarily surprised Adam picked Casey to move on. Jeff had some issues last week. I wasn't sure if people would pick up on that but I think a lot did. That said, his song was a lot more difficult that what Casey sung and maybe moving it up a couple of keys wasn't the best suggestion from Adam. I wasn't thrilled with Casey this week. Singing a ballad, she went back to that vibrato I hated from the battle rounds. And despite Adam telling her to find her own way of singing it (hard to do), she did a lot of what Whitney did.

    Nakia

I was really impressed with Vicci last week but she was pitchy and inconsistent (at least early on) this week. Nakia has a very strong voice but I think he struggles when his vocals need to be more subdued. It's not bad but it's not up to the level where he is when he's doing his thing. I'm lukewarm on him but overall, I've enjoyed more of his performances than I have Vicci's, who really only impressed me last week.

    Dia

I didn't really think this was a good song choice for her. I don't think it allowed her to really shine. She did well but it was just kind of even all the way through. I blame the song and not her but I'd like to see her do something where she can get real intense and emotional instead of being somewhat subdued. I don't think I've seen that yet. Actually, I do think she did a little more tonight but I still think she needs to go farther. She's like the opposite of Nakia and Beverly. But it doesn't matter because Xenia sucks. When Xenia is in her sweet spot, it's very, very good. But her vocal range is zilch and her dynamic range is nada. She's not capable right now of taking a song and building it up with tension and emotion. She's got one level and that's it. She started off great tonight but when the band kicked in her voice backed off and she was timid. And when she had to go only moderately high, her voice got really weak and out of tune. So Dia should win easily. I think Blake is an awful coach and he could cost Dia whatever chance she had unless he helps pick a song that can highlight her range as a performer.

    Frenchie

Honestly, I wouldn't be upset with either. The problem I have with Beverley is the same one I have with Nakia. She can go balls out but struggles to do something more subdued. As a result, it limits the range of intensity and emotions she can convey. It wasn't bad, but I thought she could've started out a lot softer than she did so that she would've had somewhere to build to. I'm not wowed by Frenchie but she's very solid. She has range, she has nuance that most other singers in the competition don't, and she's on key. She may lack a bit of spark, but I feel she's more versatile and capable of more than Beverly so I give her the edge.

Overall, I'm fine if Vicci and/or Beverly make it, but Javier and Dia should definitely move on at the least.

And I'll repeat, WTF was the point of having teams if the teams never actually competed against each other?

Yeah her version was exactly what Adam asked her to do, which was straggle Dolly's and Whitney's version of it.

That's why I respect it so much because she gave a nod to dolly's version and didn't over-sing it.

I don't want to start a wildfire on this, but whitney's version of the song, though obviously sung with unparalleled range, loses a lot of the actual sentiment the song was supposed to convey. Whitney's version sounds like she is triumphing over something, rather than leaving something behind that she loves dearly. That's why Dolly's version will always be superior, because it wasn't about how many notes you can hit, but about the emotion of the song. Casey covered that part perfectly.

My picks are Javier (obviously), Beverly, Vicci, and Dia.

Javier and Dia are the two that I can easily see winning this thing.
