But I mean look at T-Mac's stats in the playoffs. They are beastly, you can't say it's his fault, what has HE (individually) done wrong? Don't bring up the 2008 playoffs, he was playing on an injured shoulder and knee, getting double teamed in the 4th quarter (one of the reasons why he didn't show up in the 4th Q) and still doing a good job, managed to win 2 games WITHOUT Yao against a Jazz team that was really good.

That's an excellent point! I can't remember any superstar having to deal with double teams before!

Comparing T-Mac to this sort of super human ability is not fair. Sure T-Mac will never do this. But how many other players will?

    The FLU?
Tmac wouldn't play if he started sneezing.

The TQuack fans are desperate to justify their hero, that they spit on the greats. half of these Tquack fans are the embarrassments to the term NBA Fan.

I'll say this now. I prefer the Yao fans. At least we know that they are new to the NBA and they want their player to succeed because of pride and patriotism.

The Tmac fans are willing to spit on the greats and make infinite excuses to justify their hero's failures.

No Yao fan ever spit on Jordan.

Ugh. Don't remind me of Grant Hill. But I'm going to say it anyway. What would T-Macs legacy have been had Grant Hill been healthy during the T-Mac leading the league in scoring years????

Damnit, it hurts very badly to know we have one of the most physically talented basketball players to EVER play this game...with nothing to show for it. Please T-Mac, show us all wrong!!!

Oh, Rockets Guard Clyde Drexler showed up in the playoffs too with the flu.
    it inspired the Rockets.

    http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/millennium_index.html
(May 16, 1995) Bill Worrell could tell something was wrong with Clyde Drexler the minute he saw him. "I've never seen an individual that sick in my life," the Rockets' television commentator said. Suffering from a bad case of the flu, Drexler made it to the arena 30 minutes before game time and put on his uniform. The Rockets, trailing 3-1 to Phoenix in the 1995 Western Conference Semifinals, were amazed that Drexler was going to play. He didn't play his usual amount of minutes, but Houston got 31 points from Hakeem Olajuwon to claim a 103-97 overtime win in Game 5 of the series.

Tinman, I appreciate your love of the greats. Not many on this board do. And with good cause...you do realize that the majority of people on this BBS have never seen Olajuwon play other than on ESPN Classic. But do you really, honestly believe the times of Jordan would be the same as today?

Tinman....I have to say this is not a fair argument you're putting out there. Hell if you keep arguing that MJ is greater than TMAC, of cuz you're going to win the argument. Tats lik saying a ferrari enzo is greater than a porsche caymen. There's no comparison to a ferrari enzo. That's weak stuff.

If you want to trash TMAC, I dare you compare him with similar guys when he was playing great. Now tats manning up.

All the greats, Dream, Jordan, Magic.. they say the same thing today. Players lack fundamentals. Back in the day, most players were strongly developed. Now since kids come out so early, they are RAW.

Look at Andrew Bynum. When Dream left college, he was considered RAW, but his skill set was way more advanced than Bynums.

Let's not use Jordan. Let's use Steve Nash.

Steve Nash would have not won the MVP back in the day. There was Magic, John Stockton, etc. But since today's players lack fundamentals, someone who is sound like Nash would dominate them, regardless of his lack of athleticism.

Let's use Kenny Smith vs Rafer Alston. Kenny Smith was a quick PG when he came to the league and a playground legend in NYC.

    So was Rafer.

But Kenny Smith shot 60% from the 3 point line vs the Utah Jazz in the playoffs. let me say that again 60%. if you saw the Rockets back then, do you remember Kenny ever turning the ball over all the time?
His defense was not great, but that was not his job. his job was to run the offense and make shots.

Kenny Smith (early 90s) would vastly improve this team.

Tinman does have a legit argument. There are a ton of people on this BBS (hell, probably more than 50%) that are T-Mac fans (and hence, Rox fans) because he won a couple scoring titles and did a few nice slam dunks. Dwight Howard is the most popular player today because he won the slam dunk competition last season.

But not all of us rank a player on how well he slam dunks. But I did watch T-Mac play in his hey-day and for you to dismiss how awesome he was, even in comparison to MJ, is ridiculous. Sure he never played with the flu in a playoff game....but then again, he has NEVER played with another Hall of Fame name...

It will immediately seem like I am knocking the Rockets of the '94 and '95 championship seasons...which I am absolutely not. I still grin the biggest grin possible with Dream making the 3 in the corner to seal the deal against the Magic...i know you know what I'm talking about. I want to point that out now, but I digress, it is 1:30 and must sleep.

No disrespect and I hope you will hear my arguments. Not everyone here is all about the slam dunk. If that were the case I'd still love Dominique :)

Did you read this thread? Some Tmac fan on NBATV wrote that. NBATV, its a channel by the NBA that's on TV. And Gary Payton and Chris Webber read this crap.

Its not 'tinman just made this jordan vs tmac crap up'.

It FURTHER LEGITIMIZES what I've been saying all along about how dumb the Tmac fans are.

Did Tinman make this up too?
