T-Mac had 40pts 10rebs and 5ast in that elimination game against the Jazz. What else could he have done? Shane and Skip went 2/7, Bobby Jackson shot 2/12, AB was 0/5. Only other guy that was balling was Scola but you need more than two guys to show up. C'mon now, Tracy did all he could in that series. We were without our best player, kind of hard to beat a team like the Jazz without your best guy.

You want to talk Kobe, but Kobe himself failed to show up in the elimination game against the Celtics. I'm not saying T-Mac is better or anything like that, but Kobe isn't exactly a saint either. Remember, he quit on his team IN THE PLAYOFFS, IN THE DECIDING GAME. Now Jordan, thats a whole different story. Neither Kobe and T-Mac should be mentioned in the same sentence with MJ when talking closer. MJ never quit on teams during the game (yes I know he retired) and never lost in the Finals. Kobe went 5 times, only won 3, while being favorites for all 5 times.

yeah and I saw that game, most of those points were in the first half.
look up his second half stats on that game.

We all gave him a free pass for that series, but
It's still the same result. Nobody feels sorry for Jordan when he lost to Boston in his early years cause that dude kept going from quarter 1-overtime.

    For the Kobe comparison,
we're talking about finals vs first round.

that same jazz team got whipped by kobe and the lakers.

Yeah and Kobe learned from his mistakes is a better player for it. that's why he's the MVP last year, he made his teammates better.

Is the Tmac era over? I think so. He's not going to be Dwade after surgery.

    Houston without TMac is worse

ONLY when his replacement is HEAD

When you replace him with an average player like Wafer, or a star like Artest, Houston becomes better.

Great, because I was worried. Good think GP gives us his vote of confidence, because without it we couldn't win a ring....

This annoys me, because we have different opinions you throw out a label.

    Funny.

What, I and Tinman are saying is that Tmac's STYLE is not conducive to winning and they are better off when EVERYONE is involved, and it is not all about Tmac.

If Tmac can adjust his game and he has been whining about Adelman's offense for nearly 2 years....then the team is better, but I don't believe he can adjust.

If not, the team is better off without him.....that is what I am saying...because we are a much harder team to guard when EVERYONE on the floor is a threat and not just one or two guys.

And Tmac is not good enough, either mentally of physically to be the kind of player that can dominate in the playoffs ala Kobe, Lebron, MJ and Hakeem.

    Team ball beats Me ball....IMHO.

No labels, just cold hard beliefs.

It's really quite pathetic how everyone is so quick to dump on T-Mac. He's not even part of the team right now, but everyone still wants to kick the man while he's down. He did great things here in Houston. Hell he was the only reason we even had a chance these past few years. Houston finally added more weapons and increased its depth, but T-Mac was too injured to be a part of it all. He's needed this surgery for over a year now. Everyone should give it a rest. When healthy he has always played hard for Houston. His plus minus was a plus six just last year.

“Plus 6 is enormous,” Morey says. “It’s the difference between 41 wins and 60 wins.” He names a few other players who were a plus 6 last season: Vince Carter, Carmelo Anthony, Tracy McGrady.

Nobody knows if T-Mac will ever be the same again. Many say he's done and anticipate his retirement as they feed the public garbage that McGrady has accomplished all he ever set out to do in this league. That simply is not the case. He wanted to be a champion, and fully intended on becoming one here in Houston. Let us at the very least respect our injured star during these most trying times.

Kobe did not get out of the first round those first few years he was without Shaq, until Pau got traded to the lakers...lakers depth last year was cleary better than Houston especially without Yao, no point in comparing.

I don't say he sucks, just that his STYLE of play is destined to fail in the playoffs.

I am hoping the team goes on a run, Tmac sees it, comes back heatlhy and gets with the flow next year, because that would be the BEST case scenario for the Rockets....but, that would take Tmac making major adjustments to how he plays the game.

Much like Kobe has done, it can happen, it has to happen, IMO, or Tmac will be traded.

It is clear that the team is better playing as a team where the attack can come from anyone on the floor, Tmac is not stupid he can see what is happening out there.

Hopefully, he comes back healthy, dedicated, enthused, and with a dedication and belief in the Rick Adelman style of play....

That is what I hope for.......but realistically, I believe it is hard for a player as talented as Tmac to adjust his comfort level and play style...but...gonna cheer for it....if he comes back.

    listen obvious tmac fan,

    kobe > tmac

every day, any day, in orlando, in toronto

    it doesn't matter

10 out of 10 people would choose Kobe in the 4th quarter to win a game than Tmac. its a harsh reality.

We, as Rockets fans, were suckers to even think they were on the same level.

It's over dude. face the reality.

the Tmac fans here are blind to the facts. You are having every NBA analyst now, former players great ones and scrubby ones saying the same thing

And as Rocket fans, for the one's who actually WATCH THE GAME can see it on the court.

    We are BETTER. PERIOD.

    They need to face reality

What if you're down by 11 with 35 seconds left in the game? ;)
All joking aside, KB24 is the best player in the league right now, AND, I think he is even better than MJ in his prime. Look, MJ had a different league, the Eastern Conference is and always has been the shortest distance to the Playoffs. Put KB24 on any team and you have a contender, even with McGrady we were labelled pretenders. MJ watch out, KB24 invented a time machine and he's coming for you in 1996.

    Pizza

nice try to derail this thread

but your cheese won't change that facts that
tmac's stock has fallen like Dominos

I mean you don't need 30 minutes or less to figure out that the Rockets without the thin crust Tmac are better

Where in my post did I say tmac > Kobe?

All I did was state some facts....Kobe did not make it past the 1st round post shaq era until he got help from Pau...and during the strike shorten season, they did not make the playoffs either. No arguement there, it's facts.

    Where are the banners?

Tmac in Orlando = most overrated player in NBA history

I'll take Alex English over him..

Oh.. go start googling cause that's too much NBA knowledge for you tquacks

Go look at T-Macs team compared to Kobes at the time of the banners.... You obviously have your T-Mac hater glasses on... Alex English. Right.
