He wants to be the man and Shaq has a pretty huge shadow. If there is one guy out there that gets the hype of Kobe its Carter. Carter is a year older, but not as polished as Kobe, but his star power, right now is greater. Carter also seems less selfish and after experiencing playing on a losing team without much of a supporting cast, would embrace playing with Shaq. Oakley gives them another grizzled power forward hungry for a ring. Stewart's huge deal would be hard to swallow, but he could give Shaq 5 or 6 minutes of rest a game. That alone may be worth it.
