Hey Nugz, making the playoffs is NOT lowering our expectations or a slap in the face. Having Dallas placed in front of us IS a slap in the face...to me anyway. I'm sure no one here would complain about making the playoffs as an 8 seed as opposed to a 5 or 6 seed. ------------------ Too often, we lose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, but it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and pimp-slap the mother****** upside the head!
Nugzfan, We haven't. (Or at least I haven't) But I know that people who don't follow this team closely wouldn't be inclinded to predict us 6th or 7th (where I think we'll be) just because of the stereotypical paper teams people look at. For example. I've seen about half a dozen websites that act like Shandon was a bust for us, and we're completely thrilled. Why? Those little things like defense, hustle, clutch play, etc. dont show up on the stat sheets. Neither does team chemistry, how much our players have/will improve, etc. But on topic, being placed behind Dallas I do take as a slap in the face. There goes Cat again. Hes the ultimate Rocket fan! I think it maybe possible to get as low as 6th seed but I predict that we will get the 8th spot and make it as far as the 2nd round with a upset over the Lakers.I know alot of people think Portland and San Antonio will get the 1&2 spots but I think LA will get the #1 spot.No matter what happens they still have one thing SHAQ.If somehow Portland or San Antonio gets that 1st seed I think we will go out in the 1st round,but not without a tough fight! ------------------
NugzFan, There's been a WIDE range of opinions on this BBS as to the what kind of season the Rockets will have. IMHO, the concensus here has been 7th or 8th spot. Like most of the other Rocks fans, I resent being behind the Mavs, but hey....it's good motivation.
