what about Darko and watch out for the Aussie Andrew Bogut, who won MVP at the world junior champioships this year and will be playing at Uni of Utah this year
Isn't AI already 29 or so? in 5 years, his athleticism will be completely gone, and he prolly still won't be able to shoot straight.
Nene getting no love? Even the Nuggets fan ain't backing him up? Let me tell you something, this guys definately going to surpass 'Melo. In terms of pure athleticism, he could eventually be at an Olajuwon level. When, or if he develops anything remotely resembling a midrange game, he'll be unstoppable. Pretty good passer, very clever, and IMO he'll be the best player out of the 02 draft behind Yao and Butler.
respect the opinion but gotta say A-Stoud is better than him now and will probably be the better player in the future, but I really like nene as a player he seems to have his head in the right place and seems like an intelligent player. He and stoudamire are going to have some great battles in the future
Ok, due to some criticism I have created my second list. Let's assume that all of these players stay healty for the next five years. NBA's best (year 2008) Version 2 1.Tim Duncan (On his way to becoming the greates of all time) 2.Kobe Bryant (Proves that he was the second coming of jordan) 3.Tracy McGrady (Best all around player in NBA) 4.Dirk N. (refere to the first post) 5.Lebron James (lease don't hate b/c I put him infront of Yao) 6.Yao Ming (He just isn't tough enough to become a top 5 player OMG i'm gonna die ) 7.KG (I said some harsh things about him on my first list. He deserves to be here even though he'll be 32) 8.Jermain Oneil (A 22 12 3 PF by then and still will be 27) 9.Steve Francis (Best PG in the league, 18p 8a 5r. And most athletic PG ever) 10.Paul Pierce (I don't know why, But I just seem to forget about him in the top 9) 11.Vince Carter (He WILL be good again) 12.Stephon Marbury (Oops, I forgot about him before) 13.Amare S. (Before his rookie year, he said that his goal was to become the best player ever. ) 14.A.I. (will be old by then, 34 or so. Just a quick, passing guard with a great career under his belt) 15.Pau Gasol (don't feel like typing any comments about him) ...others worth mentioning... Kidd, Nene, E.Griffin, Curry, Jay Will, Darko, Melo some dude currently in college some dude currently in high school *if you think you can do better then, 'walk the walk'.
I love Nene's game much more than AStoud's. He's a much purer athlete, IMHO. He not only gets blocks, he gets steals. He's still raw on offense, as is Stoudemire, but his game is much more complete than Stoudemire's EVER will be. Nene will be a force to be reckoned with. I just hope Camby's injury-proneness doesn't rub off on him.
Although this is creative and interesting...................I have to say this is kind of tough to call. I mean, how do you know who will TRULY impact the league 5 years from now. You have a bunch of players with tremendous up-side to there games but...........they have yet to prove anything on the floor. For example: Joe Barry Carrol had a lot of up-side to him..............and look what happened. Same thing with Pervis Ellison. And furthermore, we dont know who will come out and suprise us, like Amare Stoudamire did last season. He was almost a complete out-of-no-where suprise impact player that came from a draft that was labeled by the experts that as a draft that was "weak" past the the 4th pick. Amare proved those wise guy experts we some-how still listen too, wrong just like Yao did. Bottom line is, unless your name is Miss Cleo, there is simply no way to tell who will be at the top in the next 5 years.
Agree on the crackpipe part. Even in the PF pantheon, Duncan will have to nudge the soon-to-be all-time leading scorer from the top spot (and he probably won't finish he career ringless after all). Even then, in terms of pure talent and athleticism (regardless of rings), Barkley is the undisputed champ followed by Kamalone, McHale, and Coleman respectively. Duncan will probably be considered in the top echelon of big men, most comparable to Moses Malone who also dominated by doing the meat-potatoes stuff and showed no flash or personality.
In what world do you live in which makes you think Duncan could kick Malone's ass or avoid Malone from taking him out on the other end?
