The Heat are probably getting stuck in mismatches because they are double teaming or getting stuck on picks or something. You can try going to the matchup settings under "Coaching" and make sure Shaq and Yao are matched up. Or maybe Shaq is scurred of guarding Yao ;)

Naw Rivaldo, the same thing happened with Brad Miller, Jamal Magloire, and Kelvin Cato.

huh, that's odd cause I played one game against sacremento on my season and that didn't happen. I don't know what the deal is.

Just got 2K6. Couple of quick notes....

Roster is updated as of Aug 22nd and didnt have to make many roster adjustments to reflect the current rosters.

There IS a "Season" mode (in addition to the Franchise/Association mode) in this verison which is nice.

As mentioned, Kevin Harlan and Kenny Smith do the commentary with Segar as the sideline reporter which is good.

I only played one game. But I LOVED the player movements. They look as realistic as ever including the shot fakes, the drives and slams and the shooting motions. Great stuff! To me this is the biggest upgrade.

I am still getting used to the new "stealing" though. That is tough to master with the right stick. Most of the controls are the same as 2K5 but there are some differences which will take some getting used to. I think the FTs are harder. But probably get easier with more practice.

So far so good....just need to master the controls a bit better.

I've read some on the net talk about this. Seems to be an issue with a player's defensive awareness rating. Basically, if someone on your team gets hot, the computer will put the best devensive awareness rated player on them no matter the position.

You may have to just go in and lower some of the big men's rating to fix it. I think I may have seen a developer of the game post that they may release a patch to fix it, but I'm not positive.

Has anyone seen a good set of sliders? I know the defense seems to steal the ball too much and my big men miss too many gimmies under the basket.

I've played one game in Association mode.

Definitely better movements....defense is waaaay too good at stealing from me..you cant throw a medium to long pass with a defender within 6 feet of your man without them stealing it.

Ive got the free throw thing down....its much better than holding the analog sticks in the precise position and clicking R1 to shoot them...much more intuative.

One big irritant so far.....WHy in hell does it take my guys so long to recupe their energy??? If you allow Yao to get his energy under 80...it takes a long time for him to get back up to over 90..its that way with every one of them except Head...who seems to have mad stamina....and they dont seem to realy recover it during halftime like before.

btw...we better wish the real Head is as good as his game conterpart....the man is damn good in 2k6 :eek:Betcha if I keep playing him 20+ minutes all season...he will get ROY..first game for him was 21pts and 12 dimes.

ok..in summary...I really like the new 2k...if I can figure out how to keep my guys from tiring out so easily...or at least recuperating faster...I would love it.

Fatigue starts taking a real toll at around the 60s, and at around 50 you're players are hit alot harder. They did this so that people wouldn't just bench a player and have them recuperate fully as if they had full energy again. Also used to make users think and have some time management.

I dont have a problem with tryin to make it so that you cant just play your stars for 48 minutes...but to make them take an entire quarter to regain their full energy sucks.

I didnt realize you could play them to the high 50s and still be effective...I take em out if they get close to 70.

reminds me of that ESPN NFL Draft commercial where Texans are on offense and there are no linemen to protect David Carr except for the center. Ah, memories... wait a second... nothing has changed... :(

100% agree with this. The "stamina" thing is an issue. I like how it is more realistic in general, but the "recover" time is the problem. Halftime doesnt help them. Timeouts dont either. They just continually go down. Not sure what the answer is other than adjust each of your players "stamina" rating to make it higher.

One other thing I found out which is a HUGE help to me. The "Default" control settings on the new game are slightly different from last year. That made it kinda difficult for me, especially adjusting to not having the Square be the jump button on defense etc.

The solution is simple though. Go to control settings and use "ALTERNATE A". That is the settings from last year's game. Makes the game MUCH easier to play, at least for me. So if you are like me and have last year's game control layout hardwired into your brain, this will be a BIG help!

game is great. I pretty much revamped my roster. I traded away howard, ward, wesley and some picks...

I added Wayne Siemian, Kareem Rush, and Luke Jackson. Now I'm under the cap. Head is starting for me. Oh the joys of video game trades...

    $40???!!!!

bastards! it's only been $20 the last couple of years, why did they decide to change it?? i know the game is better than nba live (and it has been ever since nba2k series hit the shelves) but the price was the best part! i hate how the charge $40 for something that cost about $5 a pop to produce...

you have to make money somehow. NFL and College football was bought away by microso..i mean EA. So now NBA and the MLB are their main cash cows as far as sports titles are concerned.

Be ready for $59 - $79 or more next-gen games...$39 bucks is cheap for a good game. Now paying $49 for NBA LIVE is criminal...

Dude, that was ONLY last year. It was a ONE-TIME thing to get people to actually go out and try their games instead of just going to the EA machine without thinking.

Why the hell would they keep charging $20, when the average price for a game these days is $50? Especially since they had charged $50 every year before last year?

Think of last year as a bonus, and be grateful they're charging $40 (Live is $50).

I absolutely can't fathom how so many people honestly believed that the prices would stay at $20... this is a business, you know. Charging less than half the accepted market value isn't a good business decision.

I'm not sure if this is the place or not, but IGN has some media for the Xbox 360 version of the game and....WOW! I just barely saw this, so I'm still reading and checking out the video, but you guys have to check out the screens at least:

RC, you're just too fast for me. I was just about to post this.

All I have to say is this what I was afraid of. I wanted to hold off til PS3 hit, and with Madden looking the way it was, I was definately leaning that way. But I knew I'd see something like this and I think that just became a system seller for me, even though I'll probably trade it toward a PS3 later on down the line, I don't think I'll be able to wait.
