How do you guys shoot? On the PS3, I find it much harder to hit jump shots with the thumbstick - I use the button instead. Does anyone else do that? I still use the stick for layups but it's much harder to be consistent with the stick on outside shots.
I had read back before the game was released that they were going to offer updates to unlock new classic teams periodically through the season but I have yet to see anything done here.
If your having trouble with the release timing on certain players jumpshots, turn the indicator on so you can guage the correct release timing for each player. I only play on MyPlayer, I average 25-30 points a game as a SG/SF When Yao Starts, i start, if he doesnt im the 6th man. Confusing!? Needless to say Yao is currently injured in my season, we're around .500 and struggling to make the playoff positions halfway through the season, sounds familiar right? I do love how Scola makes bonehead passing lane steal attempts and Brooks jacks up random 3's with 20 seconds left on the shot clock.
I think we should start an online league for clutchfans... It really gets old when every time you join/create a league it always falls apart... Let me know if your intersested it would be 8 min quarters with all-star diffuculty and a fantasy draft
My lineup usually is like: T-Will K-Mart(beaaaaaaaaast) Lee Scola Hayes Crazy D with those 5. On-ball D always, 1-3-1 zone mostly. Decrease help-d to like 20, increase presure to around 70. I play a fast motion-offense that benefits from the athleticism and shooting. Notice that the bank-shot is effin MONEY this year, use it with Scola or Pat. Learn to play good onball-D and learn the dribble-moves, really help you alot. Right now I'm usin Memphis more though, am on a 27win-streak in ranked-online, used many different teams in that streak(no elite teams).
I made a Text Chat for our league. I sent everyone friend requests. Please accept asap. PSN: ReturnoftheMarc Team: Clippers
PG: Lee SG: Martin SF: TWill PF: Scola C: Patterson I've been wrecking kids lately online (XBox360). I set the Offensive tempo 100%, Attack the Basket 100%, Defensive Pressure 100%, Crash Boards 100%, Take Inside shots 100%, Defensive Help 100% (but sometimes I have to turn this down a little bit if its not working, so it just depends on who you're playing). Then I go to defensive settings and put their best players on lock down by changing the settings to on ball and off ball = tight If you play good defense, you'll be able to make fast breaks easily and lots of alley oops off of turnovers. TWill is a huge dunker, if you can juke people a little bit by crossing them over and then hold down the left trigger and then hold down the shooting button, he'll take off close to the basket and dunk 90% of the time or make a good lay up. It took a while to get used to it, but it works great. Also, K-Mart is automatic when he's left open on the corner 3's and you master his shot. If you have the ball in his hands, just dribble around for a while and then hit the Y button for him to do his little fake out move which will leave him open and you can just shoot the ball right away and he'll make it 75% of the time. Depending on the player im going against, i'll usually do full court press or 2-3 defense based on how he plays. By the way, the Miami Heat are ridiculous in that game. I tried playing with them the other day and I blew 3 kids out by 15+ pts and made them quit by half time. That team isn't fair at all when I play with them. Mike Miller and James Jones dont miss 3's and Lebron + Wade are just ridiculous. Every drive to the basket ends with a dunk, layup or an AND 1 foul.
Oh, another crucial thing to do is to save all your timeouts until the 3rd quarter. Call a timeout with about 4 minutes left in the 3rd and then hit the left trigger and click on the "defense" thing to make your team play stronger defense. Then call another timeout with about 2 minutes and do the same thing with the defense. Then call a 3rd timeout with 1 minute or so left in the 3rd. The reason I call 3 timeouts in the 3rd is because if you dont use 3 timeouts before the 4th quarter, you lose them. So you might as well use them in the 3rd quarter so that your players will be 100% energy at the start of the 4th. Also, you lose another timeout around 2:30 or 3:00 left in the 4th, so call another timeout at 4:00 min or so in the 4th quarter. There's really no point in using your timeouts to save energy in the first half because most likely your players wont need a rest until about 1 minute or so left in the 2nd quarter if you were to play them all the entire half. You can just sub in Brooks, Budinger, etc if you have to in the 2nd. The 2nd half you wont have any issues with fatigue if you use your timeouts as I mentioned above.
I only play 1 on 1 with friends ... never the computer or online but I've found that over the years it doesn't pay to guard the ball handler. Guard the least offensively talented 2, 3 or 4 on the floor and help off him.
Offense: 1) Yao in the low post, hop or spin step & dunk, 2) Yao high post, hop step & dunk, 3) Yao wait for double team, kick out 3pt, 4) gut roll screen, awesome move! For everyone. Defense: Same as in real life, man blows by defender, Yao blocks shot. I love this game!
