Only watchin the Super Bowl Final, besides that I don't give ish bout football. Pretty shocked we're having these results on a basketball-forum, especially when the poll says HALF NFL season vs. FULL NBA season.
Beer isn't legal on Sunday everywhere. Damn oppressive government. I misread the choices originally. Makes the question a lot more difficult. I don't want anything but full seasons. A short season is a tainted season.
this poll is so surprising. people on a basketball board would rather miss the entire rockets season for 2 months of football?
NBA/basketball fans need to think unselfishly. Most the of the violent testosterone walking chumps are the NFL/football fan types. If you appease these people we would have less problems. For the better of humanity, though I purely B-ball, I would give in to the NFL-football fan. Hence avoid my community from burning down to the ground. Think and sacrafice people. There are more of them then us or mix. Football is also fun to watch and play.
I love all three major sports, but honestly I would rather do without basketball than football. When the Oilers left I grew to appreciate football no matter who was playing. I can't really watch an NBA game outside the Rockets. Same goes for baseball. Plus I guess I feel the Texans have the best chance right now of doing anything, which is sad, because they haven't even done anything! But I guess in this scenario, I would vote for an entire basketball season. Cause you still get some football. No basketball at all would definitely suck.
I've been to one Preseason game and one regular season.... and it was pretty lackluster. The price of a football ticket is not worth it imo. Basketball the arena crew works hard to keep you entertained throughout the game with the giveaways, the mini games between timeouts, the power dancers, video, etc. Football they don't even seem to try. Plus you're a lot closer to the court (even from the nosebleeds) in basketball. But baseball is the best...the Astros suck but I've still been to two games this year. Even if the game itself is boring it's still relaxing to kick back at MMP and enjoy a ballpark hot dog. Football is the best watching on tv. But baseball and basketball trump football when the home team is playing games that truly matter. You live and die with every shot and every pitch.
No doubt, I would miss the NBA and the Rockets way more than the Texans. The Texans are in Astro territory. Of course I hope both of them improve. But right now, they are awful.
I've been saying I'd rather not lose basketball for some time now, but it would be dreadful to lose football too. From September through the Super Bowl, I live for Sunday's. However, Sunday is one day a week, while basketball can provide me entertainment nearly everyday during the football season, which is why I'd rather be without football. Ironically, I'm wearing a Steve Francis, Rockets football jersey right now, haha.
Missing NFL games would have much more of a negative impact on local economies than missing NBA games
