Which is worse:

  1. Missing half of the NFL season

    36.0%
  2. Missing the entire NBA season

    64.0%

i guess it depends...the Texans only show up half the season to play anyways so if it just so happens that we get to play the winning half of the season, the Texans could end up like 8-0 or 7-1 and FINALLY make the playoffs...

But as for the Rockets it would suck to skip to next years draft without getting to showcase any of our trade bait and basically have the 14th pick again (even though if there is a season we probably get the 14th pick anyways)...

but in all honesty something is better than nothing, so losing an ENTIRE nba season has to be worse than losing half of the NFL season..

thinking about it, it would be worse to lose the entire NBA season

Because if you only miss half of the NFL (plus playoffs), you still can watch both sports, but if you miss an entire NBA season, you only can watch one sport during the year.

But if would be half NFL vs half NBA, I would pick NFL, because I think its more exciting.

    For me its:

    1) Rockets
    2) any NFL game
    3) any NBA game (outside the rockets).
    4) other sports.

nba is the only sport that exists, as far as i'm concerned.

definitely don't want to miss an entire season :(

gotta say I'm shocked at this poll, I guess americans do love NFL more than the NBA, even in an NBA board lol.

Personally I don't see why even NFL lovers would rather miss 82 games+ playoffs over a mere 8 games. Its not like regular season NFL games mean anything anyway, With only 1 game for each round of the playoffs the regular season doesn't really mean anything. The patriots had the best record then got walloped in the first round.

I enjoy the NFL and NBA equally.... I'd rather have half a NFL season than NO Nba season at all.

Wow pretty shocked at the results considering this is a basketball board. It would probably be unanimous if this poll was done on a football board.

Well I pray and hope that both leagues resolve their lockouts, so it wouldn't come down to these 2 options.

NFL season has the most hype for the least amount of actual compelling drama in sports. They could play 8 games - move half of the college games to sunday so the beer companies & bars are happy - give thema full playoffs & super bowl, and the nation would survive. No NBA for a whole year would suck.

I actually would like to see the NFL try some creative things with formats if they have a shortened season, like an expanded playoffs, maybe double eliminaton, etc.

Missing any amount of basketball hurts my soul.

With that said, I love football also. I've been to countless games for both sports, and each one gives me a different feel. I like basketball because I've played my whole life and I truly understand the game and the philosophy behind it.

My football knowledge is a lot less advanced. I understand all the rules but I can't even come close to thinking like a coach.

I think basketball is a lot more exciting at the peak of the game. Nothing like watching somebody sink a buzzer-beater. Football is pretty solid the entire time, and while still crazy at the right times, it just doesn't compare to watching the NBA for me.

Missing 8 of 16 NFL games is worse than missing 82 of 82 nba games?

NBA. I don't care (much) about the NFL beyond the fact that Houston has a team and I'm a Houston fan.

Titans chances of winning a title next year: .5%

well you could say the same thing about the NBA.

Spurs had the best record for almost all year, and lost in the 1st round.

A lot of anonymous people voted and they like their football. Wow the nba is in trouble is no one really cares about basketball. If they miss a whole season the rating might plummet which might result in the nba team valuations being down. The owners might end up losing a a billion dollars in team valuations.

Count me in as the rare breed of American who loves basketball so much more than football. I watch a lot of NBA games even if the Rockets aren’t playing, but I don’t watch football unless the Longhorns or Texans are playing. Losing NFL would basically be whatever; whereas losing NBA would definitely make me die a little inside.
