You can also thank soccer Most clubs essentially have only 1 'classic' home jersey every season now with any historical connection to the team The away kit changes every year and typically has no connection to team colors, logo, etc The third kit usually looks like an abstract attempt to push the line of 'too far' And all 3 are, of course, covered with sponsors NBA has basically adopted the exact same practice
A few very clean ones: Pelicans, Pistons, Bulls, Wolves, Bucks, Nets & Warriors. Lot of stinkers, Utah I guess had nothing to celebrate, but have to say of the 90s cartoonish / over the top / busy designs that Hornets, Spurs and Rockets have very solid ones.
This is obviously the NBA's blueprint, but taken to a more extreme degree with 4-5 jerseys every year. There is also one key difference between the NBA and soccer teams: the latter always wear their recognizable kit at home. Man U is always in red, Man City is always in blue, Real is always in white, etc. There is no location-based visual consistency in the NBA anymore and it detracts from the overall aesthetic.
Hornets look even better on the court with the shorts and court in full glory! Easily the winner for me, but I'm a sucker for that teal and love purple.
LOL the yearly changes are getting tiresome. But at least Suns try to do it right. Blending of past and now.
I like the Clippers one. Jazz going back to their classics. Plus the deep blue/purple is more slimming, good for Donovan, who packed on some extra lbs. There might be a picture soon, Spurs was rumored to bring back their ABA jersey.
i hate jerseys with just a logo on the chest. Overall, what were they thinking not taking that new retro purple and making a white and a black one of those + NO era retro jersey and court + yellow city edition. What a huge miss because those mountain gradient purple actually look great-much better than Phoenix Sun's execution with trying that 90s gradient throwback but too scared to go all the way with it. I'm just so sick of the Rockets brand though. Our championship era brand is so long ago now and we've attempted(and failed) so many ridiculous "ahead of it's time" looks that going back to such a simple red and yellow logo and jersey for a team with a rocket/space theme just seems weird and a bad fit.
I just wish the home teams would wear white or the lighter color. The NBA finals brought that back and it was perfect.

Those Cavs look like practice jerseys, but i like them(as alternates-why do championship teams keep changing their championship look?). I always loved the Rockets practice uniform from the championship seasons. Solid red with ROCKETS wordmark on the front left short leg and houston on the chest and big blocky numbers. The home would be solid white with rockets on the chest and the logo on the front left shorts leg. Super simple and clean, but the nike/jordan logo and advert help balance it as you see on that white Cavs. Speaking of those old days, they also wore a large plain white tee with Rockets in red on the chest over their jersyes and now i gotta find one.
The Latinx-inspired jerseys are here and they're as unique as breakfast tacos! Am I doing it right? @Os @Tinn @J.R
