Good question. I would say Chris Mullin. The team had a lot of 6'6-6'8 players. 2 Centers (Ewing, Robinson) Only 1 pure shorter pg in Stockton. Magic could play all positions if needed. --- Funny thing about Laettner was they also considered Shaq, Mourning, Harold Miner and Jimmy Jackson but just eventually took Laettner.
Those last two are interesting. Wonder how learning from and practicing with that level of talent would have changed the trajectory of their careers.
This was a bit hard for me to follow/understand at first. Reading that article gave a little background that helped though. Even though Magic "apologizes", it seemed to me like he was really saying "I forgive you". Isiah's response is one of profound gratefulness and Isiah never says "I forgive you" in response to Magic (which would be a typical response). Magic seems to be the one consoling/encouraging Isiah. I could be wrong, but my take is that Magic was saying "I forgive you for the stuff you did in the past, and I'm sorry that I shut you out of my life instead of trying to repair the relationship back then." Who knows, maybe Thomas had tried to ask forgiveness at some point along the way, but Magic was unwilling to forgive until now. @Codman: Any insight here for us?
yeah without sneaking stockton in and getting laetner over shaq et al, it would have just been bird and mullin
