Why dont we trade Knight/Nene for Kanter? a top scoring/rebounding center off the bench would be huge.

Just a note: Sharing more than 5 paragraphs of copyrighted material is a violation of U.S. Copyright law, and could get the site in trouble.

One of the things that would be monitored, I suspect, if the moderators proposed by Clutch gets enacted.
Seemed like something people should be aware of...do you disagree?
LOL, definitely not snitching, I was going to paste a similar content previously myself...but as popular as this site is, it could certainly get the attention of people who might, causing, at the least, a problem for Clutch. One of the 'burdens' of being a great site..that means a great many people see it....leading to both more exposure, and more incentive from, ESPN in this case, to take action if they become aware. I don't think that's what any of us here want.

I would agree, although the law itself doesn't differentiate. The argument from ESPN would be it is circumventing their right to charge for their product.

Didn't want to make a big deal of this...just thought I'd post it so people were aware. Maybe I shouldn't have...

It's sad to see that the recurrent injuries have really hurt him. I hope he will have a better season in 2019-20.

Clutch isn't responsible for what users post here.

Furthermore, all links to offsite articles should be through an archive service, like archive.is

Because he doesn't play any defense.

Glad you pointed this out again. I have said this multiple times. It gets overlooked by most, especially the media.

I agree with you, but the problem is you can't expect to receive someone worth a pick when packaging our pick with Knight. You want the value of a first rounder, but every team knows: Knight and a first is a net zero, it's not the equivalent of you giving us a first rounder.

So when we say "not worth giving up a 1st rounder for" yes of course you're right. But Knight is minus one first rounder. We are going to have to attach a pick to him to get the worst expiring contract in the NBA. Carroll is - for us - the best expiring contract in the NBA. We have to account for that difference.

You're correct. If this works out plus a decent buyout, then I will feel that it might have been worth giving up a low 1st rounder.

Other than Butler maybe being availiable...again...I don't see any big trades out there for us to make?

I think we look at the buyout market but I don't know what's out there. Vince Carter hasn't played on the Rockets before and I'm sure his goal is to play for every NBA team before he retires so why not? I'd give him minutes over Ennis...

we could get more from a scoring/rebounding specialist center than a 3rd/4th string pg/sg

There was a time when I would have been worried about the copyright Nazis over at ESPN (Disney). Disney was legendary in suing everyone that took away from the Mouse's house. They have decided to chill out a little in recent years and let others make some content that stems from their property.

based on who ESPN said would be available i think these are our best options:

    1) carroll - best fit and fits the biggest need but its unlikely the nets would want to cut into their 2019 cap space for knight/FRP. the article did say there's an outside chance. might not be worth risking a pick for someone who might get bought out later, or has the option to leave in the offseason.

    2) oubre - young, athletic, can create offense and not bad on D (can get better considering age). he could be worth two vet mins (ennis/melo)+pick. chriss can't be reacquired by the suns.

    3) o'quinn - upgrade nene to an actual rim protecting, rebounding, passing center with good finishing ability. chriss/melo/second can get it done

    4) dedmon - same as o'quinn but more injury prone and more expensive. package would have to be chriss/melo/ennis/seconds but that would still add $1M to the cap pushing us further into the LT. doubtful tillman approves. another package would be chriss/nene/melo/seconds which saves us $1M on the cap and much more in taxes. tillman would approve but morey/MDA probably won't part with nene for a minor upgrade.

    5) shumpert - would take a bigger trade (knight/picks) and the kings may prefer more win-now moves. morey can probably get a much better player for knight/FRP over the summer when knight is entering his final year which is why i doubt he gets moved at the deadline. adding a better player now like bazemore or james johnson would cost knight/FRP and an additional asset which just isn't worth it when we can send knight's expiring contract and just 1 pick for them over the summer.

in the end i see oubre and o'qiunn as the most realistic, best chances.
