I could care less about being #1 seed. What does that get you that a #2 or 3 doesn't? Certainly not homecourt throughout the playoffs the way the Celtics have been playing. And certainly not an easier matchup, teams 1-8 all look very solid and an upset can happen anywhere. Besides, I like the Lakers more than the Celtics :p

My prediction is still the same. Unless Kobe goes into MJ mode (which I don't think he can do to Boston over a series), than Gasol or someone else is gonna have to step up to get it done. Can they???

Edit: Although he is playing like Superman tonight, but he's still getting all jumpers.

these guys have been playing in the NBA for a while. and again, it's common sense.

you see the basket, you're 7 foot, go put that ball in the basket with 2 hands. that's 100% guarantee score.

even in MJ mode, he can't beat boston. great teams don't lose to a single player.

MJ needed scottie to get his 20, and other guys to get theirs too.

even if kobe puts up 35+, role players gotta get their 65-70 pts.

Well NBA players can jump out of the building and they are afraid of being blocked. Also it's hard to change your style of play once you develop a certain style already. Like Yao will never be the phsyical beast he's capable of being.

i gotta give props to ray allen. last yr in the first 2 series of the playoffs, he looked like a certified scrub where teams don't even guard him at times.

but look at him this yr shooting lights out. much props.

this Vujajic refusal to wear green comes off more as douchebaggery than what they're trying to sell it as...

it'll be good if boston loses. as much as i hate the lakers and kobe, it will show the league that celtics are not invincible.

I'm glad JVG called out Phil Jackson's comment on Gasol being an underrated defender.

Gasol has been getting owned by KG since the Finals. Pau is basically the X factor of why the Lakers dominate most teams but struggle against the Celtics. He is also the symbolic figure of the Lakers' stigma: a soft finesse team.

    KG > Pau

let's be real, it wasn't like KG dominated the finals last yr. he struggled mightily himself too.

but pau is just so damn soft. gosh.
