Howard for leaving the Lakers - espn invested a lot in setting up a studio in LA and all just primarily for the Lakers. With Kobe on the quick decline Howard was supposed to be the star that help carry the torch and keep the Lakers relevant because quite frankly if the Lakers are doing well the league makes more money.

Its not just because of Howard the Lakers are in shambles but him leaving makes it even harder for the lakers to field a contending team in the next few years (unless of course there is another 'frozen envelope' in this years lottery)

Tell you what, NBA. You wanna really make it up to the Rockets? Let's see some home cooking from the refs for the Rockets....in Portland on Friday night.

don't forget the out of bounds call where the ref thought it went off of howard's leg. and to put salt on the wound, it happened in overtime which can be reviewed but it wasn't. sometimes i wonder if howard's nice guy attitude and tendency to not protest anything hurts the team.

So the refs are punishing Howard and the Rockets during a playoff series against Portland because of the Lakers decline? I don't buy it.

Is it time for the 2014 version of Michael Finley: Out of Bounds yet?

This is fuc*** stupid. The 2nd time in 4 games. How can this be allowed....Are these refs not punished for these BS calls?!

They need to take a step back and look at the team they made those mistakes against, then look at what the series is currently at.

I dont want any of those refs anywhere near game 5.

No one leaves the Lakers for less money...EVER!

In star driven league, stars & potential stars are manufactured and thrust into the public eye via highlights, commercials & endorsements.

When the Rockets won in Game 3 they showed 9 Portland shots to the 2 Rockets shots on ESPN, why?

They have been trying to market Kyrie as the next big thing, but he's not in the playoffs, so they turned their attention towards Lillard.

They would rather show crossover dribbles & drives to the basket than a big guy dominating the post. Duncan has been the standard for excellence for over a decade now, but do we ever see the NBA promote him?

Harden has been wrestled and grappled on every possession this post season with no calls coming his way. Dwight is hammered every time he posts up. Lin gets mugged with calls only coming when he's almost decapitated.

The Rockets players are getting tech fouls for clapping (Bev), nothing (Dwight) & standing in the way of elbows (TJ)...but Portland have been getting away with taunting refs & players, arguing calls etc without even a blink from the officials.

Howard's play this post season has been nothing short of exceptional, the Portland Trailblazers can't stop him, either could the refs...so they stopped calling fouls against our players...particularly Harden, to stop him.

They wanted us to lose Game 3 as well, but Troy Daniels saved the day with that Big Shot...but do we see that in the Top 10? Do we see that in the highlights? No. Instead they continue to show LMA going off for 40 in game 1, or OKC highlights from January.

    The NBA...smh.

He couldn't protest, he was shackled by the earlier technical...he had to stay level headed and not get tossed. Coaches and other players should've been asking for a review.

Dwight has been working his butt off offensively and defensively this series. Not to mention the beating he's getting in the paint.

And it's just not fair to him either, that apparently the opponent is also the refs and their hawk eyes.

The League admitted that Dwight Howard was incorrectly whistled for a foul late in overtime of the Portland Trail Blazers’ dramatic 122-120 OT win against the Houston Rockets. From the press release:

Rod Thorn, NBA President, Basketball Operations, issued the following statement Monday regarding a play late in the fourth quarter of the Portland Trail Blazers’ 122-120 win over the Houston Rockets on April 20, at Toyota Center.

“After video review by the league office, we have determined that the officials were incorrect in assessing a foul to the Rockets’ Dwight Howard with 10.8 seconds remaining in overtime. The foul should have been called on the Blazers’ Joel Freeland and Howard should have been awarded two free throws.”

We really need a challenge system for coaches to challenge ref calls. Something like the NFL or MLB.

It's crazy that some of these plays that are so obvious/dubious aren't being reviewed.

How about when they said the ball went out off Howard 's knee at the end of the game when it clearly wasn't even close and it was obviously off Aldridge?
