eh, you're also not a superstar, not in the public eye, and not getting paid what these guys are getting paid. And if you go do something stupid, it doesn't cause huge waves for your company for the next 2 months, and it doesn't cause the larger conglomerate over your company to come down on your company harder. Too different of a situation to compare to what you can do on a business trip, I think..
I disagree. There are plenty of stupid things that one could do that would easily lead to million lawsuits for your company when out on business. Bottom line is: When after work on business trips, my time is my time. And it should be that way, it's both the individual's right as well as protection for the institution. Assume for an instance that when out on road games, all of the players time belonged to the team. This mean that a player has the right to sue his team for petty things like a lumpy hotel mattress that may lead to lack of sleep. It's lunacy! Things are set up a certain way for specific reasons. If you're fearing that the "larger conglomerate" will come after my company, then my company needs to take legal measures to ensure everyone's rights and protection (in this case the CBA or other law suits). Furthermore, those who think "because someone makes THAT much money, they deserve less rights" need to seriously grow up. Perhaps you're willing to give up certain rights for more money (because you're incapable of make more yourself), but that's a choice you make for only yourself. So let me reiterate: there's business hours, and personal hours. There's a reason why there's a distinction.
i head sloan just initiated a curfew for all his players on the road...is this true??? a midnight curfew!!!
