I didn't say the NBA needed to prove anything like a court of law. Don't waste time arguing against a straw man. As has been stated already, there are legit reasons why AK47 ended up signing with the Nets. The NBA needs something more than the thin air of suspicion before removing the franchise from Prokhorov.

The eastern conference is getting interesting. The heat will have to go to war for a three-peat

The question isn't about what they can do, it's about what they will do. They can do whatever they want basically. A lot of it will likely come down to just how many of the other teams have an issue with the deal more than anything (they're a cartel after all, the removing from ownership was just an example of how far their power extends, what they need for that is for the other owners to vote him out like happened to Shinn), if basically the whole league starts issuing complaints, it'll get nixed, if it's only 3 or 4 of them and the rest don't care, the nba probably won't do anything.

If they all complain and the nba subsequently does nothing, it's just opening itself up to an arms race of under the table money and Prokhorov has long been suspected of the most likely to do it, basketball reasons (or all encompassing god powers, whichever you want to call it), and all.

I don't understand why we couldn't sign Kirilenko for that sum ? Surely we're a better option at this point than Nets no ?

We dont have a russian owner and a big part of that decision is the nationalistic pride of kirilenko and prokhorov (if i spelled that correctly).
