Did anyone watch these growing up? It was a 3 part set of tapes that had a series of the NBA's biggest stars incorporated into music videos.

I stumbled across my NBA Superstars 2 tape while packing. I must have watched the video 100 times.

Here's some of the videos I found on Youtube (they are all from the second one):

    Magic Johnson

    Michael Jordan

    Larry Bird

    Charles Barkley

    Olajuwon/Ewing/Robinson

There's a few more on Youtube like Dominique Wilkins, Chris Mullen/Tim Hardaway, Karl Malone (eww), and Scottie Pippen.

There was also a Clyde Drexler one which was really good. Unfortunately, the owner took it down for some reason.

I just tried watching the Magic one but the music was too gay to get through. Sorry.

The Magic one probably has the slowest music, but you have to understand that this video came out soon after he was diagnosed with HIV.

The music was emotional because at that time, most people were incredibly afraid of HIV/AIDS and the nation was very uncertain about the future of someone with HIV. So, in reality, the NBA community wasn't sure if Johnson, one of the sport's greatest heroes, would make it to the end of the decade.

I just don't know how you do it Gary. How do you make yourself so somber and emotional to make everyone cry like that?

I thought it was a great song considering what it was about. Patti Austin is probably 100x better than yet another Lil Weezy song whining and wheeeeezin' about Lord-knows-what.

That early 90's video, Jam Session was the coolest thing ever when I was 12.

No, not assuming you listen to it, but it seems as if every NBA highlight video seems to require a rap be associated with it. I love rap/hip hop, but geez, something different every once in a while isn't bad. Sure there are songs that have no business playing with an NBA video, but I thought this one was appropriate for the topic of the video and the time.
