I called the local Software Etc. They said if I come in today and reserve it. They can give it to me then. So uhh what if I don't want to come in right now and reserve it but I just wanna buy it. Does that mean I can't get it until tomorrow? One other question. Does anyone have a reccomendation on PS2 or GC versions. i heard the PS2 version was a little grainy. Anybody seen multiple versionsthat can tell me which one is better?
Did you have to download him, though? As far as I know, this game is the only one where you DON'T have to download an update to get Yao. I believe Yao was not signed officially when NBA Live 2003 and other games were finishing up, so they couldn't put him in. Roster updates had him though. If he was in it orginally, I guess I was wrong.
The graphics may be better on the other systems, but the control is the best on the PS2. There are 4 turbo buttons and only 3 for the other systems. The extra turbo button allows you to pick your moves, since there is a little bit of randomization of moves for the other systems. I've played both the XBox and PS2 versions and I can live in the small downgrade in graphics quality for the improved control. I hope that helps you some Castor27. B
Since NBA Street Vol 2 is 4 player I was thinking it might be fun to have a CC.net tourney one of these days. Who would be interested in participating? I wish it was a network adapter compatible game, but since it isn't we'd have to go to someone's house or find a clubhouse at an apartment complex to rent. B
Good idea B, I would love to be apart of it. As for the whole first game with Yao in it, I believe the PC version of NBA Live 2003 had Yao in it because it was released around the beginning of the NBA season unlike it was for the console version release in early Oct. As for the game, bought it yesterday and have played plenty of games. Already unlooked a court and a few legends. The gameplay here is endless with all the different modes to play. Its probably one of the best games I have ever invested in.
Is anyone playing on legendary mode yet? I've found I only block 5-6 shots a game with Yao instead of 20-30 on the got game mode. I wish they had a difficulty mode where goaltending was impossible. It's just too tempting to pull down every shot I can with Yao. B
OK I got the game(I got the GC version cecause I left before I saw your post. It has some control differences but you can perform different moves by alternately pressing the 3 different turbos). I haven't played it much because I haven't had time. I hopefully will get into it tomorrow. I did notice a cheap way to power up a created Baller. You can go thru the tutorial as many times as you like. Each time you pass it you get 1000 reward points. Just save up your reward points and buy the 1000 DP upgrade for 1200RP. Apply it to your Created baller, rinse and repeat. You'll have a super player without too much investment.
Who are the 3 players you guys use most for your games? I'm using Shaq, Kobe/TMac, Iverson/Francis This game is a blast. ... and I'm playing on the easiest level right now. I'm a wuss.
Yao Ming, just because he can block almost every single shot in easy mode. Steve and Cat just because they enough handles to up the trick points before I have Yao slam it down. Steve has a nice assortment of dunks too. B
Yeah, I switched from Iverson to Francis when I noticed alley oops just weren't clicking with Iverson. I need to replace Shaq with Yao to see how that goes.
Man, I forgot all about the PC version. I always think console when I think NBA Live. Seems like I need to check this game out. All of you guys seem to be loving it.

The few games that I have played haev been with Francis Yao and my created dude. I have also been playing the Be a Legend mode with my created guy and 2 scrubs. but I am undefeated in easy mode.
I mostly played with Everybody on the Rockets. The team of Steve, Yao, and EG is the sleeper team of the Rockets. I started another challenge with the Hornets, with the team of Baron, Jamal, and Wesley, which aint bad at all.
