Err, I'm pretty sure I remember Hakeem being the starting center on both the 90s and 80s West teams in NBA 2K3, and he was certainly one of the best in the game. Then oddly enough this year he was left out while Kareem, who never seemed to be in videogames because he wouldn't let them use his name, was in. I wonder if Hakeem voiced his desire to not be included in videogames, as he voiced his desire that a statue of himself not be erected in Houston. I mean, it seems pretty odd that he would be prominently featured in 2003 and then gone completely in 2004.
I'm showing my age here, but does anyone remember this? On one of the EA Sports NBA games from the mid-90s for the Sega Genesis there was an interesting feature where, if you created a custom character and named him after a famous retired player (or player whose licensing agreement precluded him from being on the rosters), the custom-player generator would magically set the player's attributes to the exact levels you'd expect for the real-life player of the same name. I think I discovered it, whilst drunk, when I went to create Jordan for the Bulls since he wasn't on the roster. Bingo, my custom character was suddenly 6'6", 210, was a great shooter/leaper/dunker, etc. I tried Wilt Chamberlain next-- same result. It was pretty funny, actually. I also seem to recall this feature mysteriously disappeared from the following year's version of the game.
brian kagy that was nba live 1996 i think. the only one you could not get to work was karem because his name didnt fit i didn't try his real name, cassius clay though
Wow. And I thought Juan accidentally calling Phil Jackson "Peter Jackson" was funny... this is just too much.
