They are a team trying to maximize his future value while he is still in a Magic uniform. It's not his responsibility to make sure they receive something in return from wherever he goes next.

If it's ok for us to dangle our players around to make the team better then why isn't it ok for Howard to talk about making himself better when he's a free agent? Don't we tell Martin, Scola and everyone else on the roster to shut up and play even though they all know they are on the trading block? Aren't we in playoff contention and couldn't we use some camaraderie? We just offered Scola/Dalembert the other day. Yet it's wrong for a player to do the same thing?

The same loyal fans that will happily support getting rid of a player once he is over the hill or his level of play drops? The same type of fans that loved T-Mac and Francis when they were great but were happy to get rid of them? The same type of fans that didn't want the team to pay Hakeem? Brooks? Landry? Hayes? Battier? Moon? Etc.

    Please spare me.

^Player only fans like this guy will never get our point, they don't understand the value of loyalty. They just try to just justify the douchebag actions of their idols.

no, when a player like Hakeem gave their franchise, there was plenty in an uprise about how he should've retired a rocket at any cost. Similarly to Francis who was with us from the start. So its out there, you get all kidns of opinions, but you trying to say those same loyal fans wanted them out is just incorrect to generalize.

I'm saying it's a business and plenty of fans put team ahead of individual. And when we traded players who laid it all on the line for our team....to make our team better....I didn't see too many folks crying about it. I hold mgmt and players to the same standard. I'm not going to knock a player for not showing loyalty....to the team or fans or whoever....when the team and fans don't do the same. Cuz IIRC the last time T-Mac came to Houston Toyota Center boood the **** out of him.

There was "some uprise" but a lot more of fans were happy with the moves. Especially of trading Brooks and Francis.

I am not talking about brooks, I am talking about franchise players who changed the course of the franchise, drafted by houstont, kind of became like home for them and for the fans. For the rockest we had hakeem, to some extent francis as well. There is never going to be a decision that everyone agrees on, but for those two, there were many cries that hey should've retired a rocket and people still show love to them.

T-mac was playing for his 2nd-3rd team, brooks was new and already complaining.

For guys like chris paul and dwight, thre was a connection and they would've handed them the keys to the city to retire. Similar about Boston and Pierce.
I don't really care about the team's position or loyalty or the player to the team bc that part is a business, but I am talking abotu the supporters
