Agreed Turbo was kickass...and there wouldn't be any reason why they couldn't have both, if Turbo hadn't retired that is. I guess the bear angle is a little generic but he's still great...I remember at the Knicks game this year he went up to a NY fan in the lower bowl and threw a big cake in the guy's face, prompting a wtf just happened expression on his face...classic!
Come on man your smarter than that, the "Knicks fan" was a setup. Clutch is great IMO! I don't care for the extra stuff but he is great.
All good things must come to an end...when he retired I'm guessing the Rockets felt it was best to move in a new direction.
Good choice Pun. Great views and acoustics in every level in the arena. It helps the building is only a few years old.
The arenas I have been To: 1) Toyota Center 2) Summit 3) Reunion Arena (Dallas) 4) Gund Arena-Quicken Loans Center 5) AT &T Center. 6) Staples Center 7) Madison Square Garden 8) The United Center I hate to say it, but the atmosphere is in SA. In my opinion it has a lot to do with the fact that SA is one team town, but man they love that team. MSG: I was truly amazed at the experience, because I love hoops so much and MSG is the mecca. with all that being said, I love watching my squad at the TC, eventhough it can be flat in there at times. This year is much better though.
What did you expect before the show? and I believe Dallas has the best NBA stadium and Houston has the second best!!! As a Rox fan I think we have the best stadium!!!!!! Even though compaq canter (lakewood church) has more good memories!
Victory plaza will only increase the gap. They are completely reviving that area by adding new shops, restaurants, offices, condos, hotels, and entertainment. You have reasons to come early and even stick around after a game. It's kind of like what St Louis did with their new Busch Stadium but with a lot more class. Most new sites are trying to make it more fan friendly, the only problem is there isn't that much space left afterwards to deal with. I've also seen plenty of Mavs busses around town. Sure, it makes a difference.
why dont we have rockets ads on busses?! only those stupid billboards in sharpstown. lol. maybe put em on the light rail cars too.
Victory Plaza is definitely shaping up. Most of the stores and restaurants are already open. I love all the huge high def video screens too. Traffic did suck pretty bad, but it was really cool being able to watch NBA highlights on those screens while driving up. There is also an ABC WFAA channel 8 studio from which the news will be broadcasted in HD. They will capture live audience in the background reminiscent to Good Morning America. They also started building the Mandarin Oriental. This will end up being the second tallest building in Dallas when complete. Its parking garage will have a 2.5 acre spot on the top. This area will contain the largest and greatest number of digital billboards overlooking a plaza anywhere in the world. Pretty good use of 3.5 billion dollars. I'm excited! I'll be hanging out here every weekend
I've only been to the old Miami Arena (ghetto as hell) and the TC. The TC is a bit sterile, but I had a great view even in the 400 section. Hopefully the downtown/midtown development will spread towards the stadium, because it needs some more life before and after games.
i would like to co-sign on the fact the the toyota center lighting is the WORST! i hate it! it looks so bad on tv. i have only been to TC so i have no comparison to others accet the OLD nuggets arena ant the summit. p.s the summit was the best
