rockHEAD, that was pretty damn funny! I had to watch a couple of times before I caught the "chump, chomp!" part. He IS a Spur, after all, but I'll give him his due anyway.;)

    Sorry.

Kidd got robbed. You have to watch the Nets as much as I do to see that if a player turns a team around like he did, the MVP belongs to him.

The Nets didn't even suck last year. They sucked, SUCKED. The Big Man bias ruled here, no doubt. Kidd is the heart and soul of the Nets and without him, they be right back in the lottery.

And don't give me this big media crap that I detest so much. You can basically kiss all this big market/small market crap out the window forever now. And by the way, NYC HATES the Nets. They are the Knicks' rival. They don't even sell out the stadium because NYC doesn't go for the Nets. But anyway, God, if there is a more deserving MVP than Kidd I don't know who is. What is an MVP if Kidd isn't? Its not about whos the best player because if that was the case, Olajuwon would have like 5 MVP's and Jordan 10! If that is the case, then Shaq should win every year now. And Kobe right behind him. And McGrady right behind him. Its about who made the biggest difference on their teams. Iverson won it last year because without him, the Sixers are lost. He is their only option. So how is Kidd, whos other team he left is not even in the playoffs (shows his value even more) not get the MVP? He not only made the biggest difference, the took one of the biggest laughing stocks in the league and turned them around!! Its the 6th biggest win/loss turnaround in LEAGUE HISTORY. Damn, these writers are blind or what? Talk about your small market syndrome, I guess if you are not in MSG, you don't know about Jason Kidd.

Highway robbery. No doubt about it.

Without a doubt Duncan should have been the MVP in 99.

This year was much more difficult. Kidd had a case but Duncan's team had a better record in a tougher conference with less to work with. Shaq is still probably the best player and would have deserved it if he played close to 82 games like Duncan--but the fact is he didn't.

Yeah, having Martin, Kittles and Van Horn healthy all season has nothing to do with the Nets playing well.

Duncan had a shooting % around .500. Kidd below .400. You seriously want to give the MVP to a guy who can't even make a basket most of the time. Yes, Kidd helped turning that team around. But Duncan made sure the Spurs got the great record they had and just because his team didn't suck as much as the Nets did the previous year, it means he deserves it less? Yes, you can make a case for Kidd, but talking about highway robbery is nonsense. Nobody else here agrees with that, so your "No doubt about it" only seems valid in your mind.

    Chiles,

What was Iversons shooting percentage last year?

And Rocketman...my friend...with the possible exception of Martin, the people you named me are just shy of being overrated scrubs, dont you think?

Iverson's shooting % last year was .420. Kidd's this year was .391. A relevant difference, in my humble opinion.
