There's nothing in @JR's article that LeBron deserves criticism over.

the nba makes billions from broadcast/streaming but nba owners can't go 2 or 4 games without selling overpriced food and drink to a crowd?

The Knicks had been preparing for this moment since 2012

The league is clearly weighing all kinds of options here – some more logical than others.

This reported idea of relocating games to places that haven’t been impacted by the virus is just absurd, in large part because of the optics. Nothing says being tone-deaf like taking your employees from a place that is impacted to a place that’s safe because, well, there is work to be done.

But sources say the league is still considering more sensible options as well, among them the prospect of pushing its entire calendar back. The NBA has been asking teams to provide its arena schedule through July, which is as clear a sign as any that the notion of putting everything on hold for a while so the authorities can attempt to contain the virus remains in play. If nothing else, it’s a good sign that the focus is moving away from half-measures to full ones – dollars be damned.

You are incredibly deluded if you think many games will even be played. It's just a matter of time before the tourney is cancelled.

as of now it isn't. starting the actual tournament knowing they would eventually cancel and not be able to finish it, is pretty dumb. they would have just done it from the start

Btw, the NIT tourney which is clearly less important and barely attracts anyone to attend is still taking place as well

They don't know. People can't think exponential, they think linear. To me there is 0.001% chance March Madness and NBA playoffs won't be cancelled.

I'd personally rather they play games for a a couple weeks with empty arena. Mic some players for entertainment and just delay the feed for censoring. Pipe in some crowd noises via PA. Would be interesting

Along with the shut out at the NCAA basketball tournament, this is ridiculous. During the worst flu seasons where millions were infected and thousands died there was no such action. Plus the virus was not being quarantined like now. This is a middle finger to the fans as most revenue comes from the broadcasts. I promise you their motive is not the protection of the fans.

I wrote this on monday, and have known this will happen since friday. It amazes me how ignorant people are.

It's also just a matter of time until you are locked into your homes for at least few weeks.
