NBA Season Suspended

Obviously there is date at which if the virus isn't gone then the season will be cancelled. What do you guys think this date is?

 

no one knows. I don't think NBA or Silver knows at this point. There will be voting on this by the teams I would imagine. There is still the broadcast contract. I would imagine season would be resumed in May or June and games will be played in one or two cites like a tourament without fans. This is what the English football league is planning one.

 

Of course we don't know. Was just looking for thoughts. I don't think they'll let the season run into August?

 

No. If they start the season again in June, they can play all games in one or two cites with no fans in the gym and no need for teams to travel. So the remaining games can be finished in one month.

 

Just officially cancel the season?

Would anyone complain if the regular season ended as is? Anyone complain about playoff positioning? The 9 seed + in the West are 3+ games behind which makes it easier than a 1 game difference.

Make the 1st 2 rounds best of 5 game series. Shorten rest in between 7 games of the Conference Finals and Finals. That could make tons of drama in terms of shortened series surprises or shorter rest for older playoff teams.

Problem is, even when that happens, people are still economically recovering and won't make attending games their first priority. This is just a tough thing to go through. I never had the scratch to go to games but man did I try to watch every game I could.

Another season wasted of hardens prime. And Westbrook isn't getting younger. Next season the warriors will be back in full force. KD also back on nets with Kyrie next year. This year was the window of opportunity for alot of teams to make it to the finals.

 

Well at least whatever injury Harden was hiding will be better if they resume the season. He should have his legs back.

 

I feel like once the season comes back, there will be an increase of injuries bc im sure some players are inactive.

At 2 to 3 games a day for each team.. street ball rules to minimize foul calls or game delays..
