Exactly. If Dwight opts out, I'd be willing to bet Morey blows it up and builds a new core around Harden. Don't forget, the new TV deal kicks in as well. We'd have a lot of cap space.

I don't see Chicago giving up portis, though I'd love to have him. Maybe Taj + Noah. But then you'd have to play Gasol and Dwight next to each other again.

    Did anyone read the article?

Dwight is unsatisfied. "Would Dwight demand a trade"?

fyi, if the Warriors had signed Howard, they wouldn't have gotten Iguodala. So yeah, you can pinpoint that as the moment where luck started to turn for the Warriors and against the Rockets. And here we are now.

Forgot about AI being signed during the same time.
Warriors had a good signing with AI. Dude balled out for them last year and took it to another level in the finals.

They would. If and thats a big if they wanted dwight and thought they could get him to resign. Pau is opting out next year and Noah expiring (also has a horrible fg% the worst for all bigs in the whole league. Despicable)

But remember that chicago does very rarely trades, theur owner is notoriously cheap and they have been tormented by roses injuries. So not sure they will want to get tied for years with another player who cant play many games in rs. On the other hand they are about to lose both their centers next year.

Does that mean the Dwight Howard Show will be cancelled?

"The Howard/Harden experiment hasn't worked the minute it was formed and the Rockets should get as much pieces as they can. We all know how Howard gets when he's in situations he don't like and if the rumors are true, he may be a distraction to a team that's already heading south."

The writer loses all credibility with that statement. The Harden/Howard hasn't worked the minute it was formed? Dis this guy forget that the Rockets made it all the way to the western conference finals last year? And that was w/o DMO. Yep, it's never worked.

If anything, it's Howard that's hurting this team with his lack of playing time. It must be frustrating to Harden knowing Howard sits every other game then doesn't contribute much on the offensive end when he's on the court.

    This report is bogus.

the landscape has changed in the last couple of years...there are now relatively plenty of big men who can dominate like d12 used to. he is no longer a rare specimen and his injury prone body is another factor he needs to consider (assuming there is merit to this, of course)

I would trade Howard for Noah+fillers without a doubt. Will be interesting to see what Morey does if it continues to go downhill.

Noah is not so good at this point. I wouldn't trade Howard for him; we could do better.

I wouldn't trade Howard unless he really did want out. This report is trash though.
