Anyone notice how only the last quarter in the NBA really matters. Sometimes I wonder what the point of watching the first half is. Usually it is tied or very close at some point in the 4th.
True. I thought it might change once we started playing each other, but it hasn't. Hell, one of the sports stations up here actually talk about the Astros more (at least when I'm listening), even though that's probably got a lot to do with the fact that they're carrying the Astros this season.
34 years old, Born and raised in Houston and I love Hockey. This time of year drives my wife crazy with both playoffs going full steam. I pull for the Stars, but if Houston had an NHL team I'd support them. No Dallas hatred from this Texan.
People say that going to an NHL game is better than seeing on television. the television doesn't do hockey justice. I don't really care for the aeros. If the aeros were an NHL team, it would be a different story. I like how the NHL actually puts their playoff games against each other, so I can decide what game to watch if any. I Think there is a little "fun-ness" to the fact that I can switch the channel back and fourth. The NBA has it wrong where they don't have games compete against each other. I remember a few years ago before they did this whole two week long first round game crap, they had games on TNT and TBS against each other. I would switch from back and fourth to see who was up. I thought that was fun.
That's a good point Kam. It was great last night flipping back and forth between Toronto/Philly and Minnesota/Colorado. I'll be doing the same again tonight.
really?? i love the aeros!! my son and i love going to aeros games together. they're a blast, particularly if you sit up next to the ice. "one...two...three...he shoots...he scores....hey, (insert opposing goalie's last name here)...YOU SUCK!" that's just great family fun!
Actually I thought these girls were kinda cute if over the hill for gymnasts at j-list.com. I've been to a few minor league games in Austin and it was pretty exciting, and have to agree, even watching NHL on TV wasn't as good as live hockey.
I like the way the NHL schedules it's postseason. Games played every other day instead of every 3-4 days. A day between games is really not really enough time to rest and heal up. A bunch of tired, banged up players going at it against one another is really interesting. It puts the older players at an disadvantage. That's why upsets are not unusual in the Stanley Cup playoffs. I understand why the Sixers can't play tonight because the Flyers are playing tonight.
I'm actually not that bad. I'm more apt to get on to other fans, especially opposing fans, then the players or umps though...especially at baseball games.
me too...much more likely...i like telling superstation braves fans they couldn't point out atlanta with a map...of course i did get the finger on my birthday from andy van slyke when i told him he sucked out in the cheap seats at the dome.
Braves fans are my usual targets as well. Dude, if you were liberal, we'd be the same person. Oh yeah, two feet taller and 150 more pounds too.
The NBA needs to schedule post season games every other day and if necessary, on back to back nights. It would be interesting to see if Shaq can handle it. I'll accept 2 days off for traveling even though the NHL only schedules 1 day off.
I resemble that remark. Damn, you're tall dude. Back in 1992, when I voted for Clinton, we actually were the same person.
Nope, I was this tall in 1992. I've been the same height since 1991, when I was just an inch under my friend that came with me that night. He kinda sprouted while I didn't. I guess I started drinking coffee too early.
