NBA on ESPN/ABC adds Bill Simmons, and Jalen Rose as studio analysts

    But Simmons will have to transition from being a scored first guard to a traffic-directing true point guard. I am not sure I like this. Simmons is good at scoring and it may not be good for them to dial back his natural tendencies.

    Then again, Wilbon may not be the only change. Simmons, Magic and Jalen could be gone, too.

    I have said this before and I will say it again, they really need a HOST, ringmaster, for that crew. It can still be lively and unpredictable, but a host to drive the show.

    EJ with Turner is the gold standard.

    My choice to replicate that, would be Scott Van Pelt.

    ESPN has good show hosts. Chris Fowler, Rece Davis, Trey Wingo, Karl Ravich. And Scott Van Pelt with golf. Why do they insist on not giving the SAME "professional" treatment to their NBA coverage?

    I like Bill Simmons on that show because he brings up interesting opinions and ideas that ex-coaches and ex-players would not bring up. They don't care about "salary moves" when we all know there are plenty of uber-fans that do.

    yep, just a bunch of advertisements with a few minutes of analysis thrown in

    doesn't matter who the people are as long as that's the case
