I've always said this in arguments about which league has better physical abilities...

Shaq could play anywhere that kept him around the line of scrimmage, and he'd still be one of the faster guys in those areas. He may be slow by NBA standards, but he'd be up there with the fastest linemen.

Imagine this guy on the defensive line just plowing through tiny little 300-pound offensive linemen. He could almost jump over one and land on the QB. Hell, even if one of those slow fatasses managed to stop him, he'd still bat down 90% of the passes thrown over his head. Just imagine a 7'2", 350 lb. Dwight Freeney that could play in the middle and still get through.

Or a 7'2" target at TE running 5-yard routes and carrying LBs for another 10 after the catch.

Or a third down back that gets 2.5 yards just for falling forward...there's no charging in football.

You wouldn't even have to keep him at one position, because his abilities to change the game would be endless.

Anthony Mason. OLB in a 3-4!

John Stockton. WR to set "legal" picks to free up the other WR's and TE's.

Gilbert Arenas. Has the right attitude to be a punk ass WR who's in the news every week. (and I really think he could be good at it, unlike the Stockton joke above)

Carmelo Anthony. TE. Would rip up the league and fantasy teams. Quick and built.

KG. Gotta find a place for his intensity on a football team. Huge ass corner? Another WR?

Two Sandwiches. 3rd string center? same position both leagues!

He'd be the tallest running back ever and would be snapped in half within 3 games. Adrian Peterson is considered "too tall" for running back and is 6'2" tops. Wade is much more suited to wideout or free safety.

He'd be clipped at the knees on every play.

Big Baby was a good tailback at 6'8" 350-pounds in high school. I can't imagine him playing tailback at a higher level, but I'm sure they could find a spot for him.

Chuck Hayes is built more like a Tight End or Defensive End. Drexler looks like he could've played football too.

    Here's a good starting 11 on Offense:

QB - Otis Thorpe - We know he can throw the outlet pass
HB - Baron Davis - tough and quick
FB - Chuck Hayes - strong as an ox
WR - Michael Dickerson - fast
WR - T-Mac - speed, body control and leaping
TE - Karl Malone - Big, Strong and Fast
LT - Shaq - His quick feet and wingspan would make him ideal for this position
LG - Big Baby Davis - Wide body to open up holes for BD
    C - Oliver Miller - What can I say, he's fat
RG - Tractor Trailor - see Miller, Oliver
RT - Kevin Willis - Would definitely bully around DE's and OLB's with his raw strength

Was just about to post the same thing, Chuck has the build and has solid hands.

Wasn't AI a great QB in h.s.? I remember watching highlights of him, Lebron also played football as well (don't remember what position though).

I can't see too many lineman in the league fending off 7,2 350 monster named Shaq. I though at first when someone asked me this question a few years ago, after a few Ravens lineman (after Super Bowl win)said they could handle Shaq. I was like they probably could their football players. But when you think about it, he weighs about the same amount as some of these guys and but he's much taller and way more built. Some have accused him of being slob, but he's nothing like some of the guys I've seen in NFL....their super slobs.

I think most teams would need two or three players going at him at once, but we've seen time and time again. That usually doesn't work. And since this would be football, charging and knocking would be legal. I can't see a much slower and shorter OT trying to keep Shaq away from the QB. Literally, he could bat down every pass on his side of the field (no such thing as goal tending). He could get alot of easy sacks, if QB tries to run by him.....because has such longer reach and so much power.

His face would be all over ESPN every single week, not because of his play.....but what said his damn blog.

There are a few players I don't think that would last in NFL, because if they're often injured in the NBA....they would definitely have injury problems in the NFL.

    Unmentioned Players so far..

Carlos Boozer: he's legit 260-269 and as he shown against the Rockets and a few other NBA teams, he's got some gas pedals on him. If he can get by the likes Yao, Shaq, Amare, D-Howard, Duncan, and even some smaller players. I don't think he should have hard time getting by a guy who is only 6,2 - 6,6 and weighs over 300 pounds.

Rick Mahorn, Bill Laimbeer, and Dennis Rodman: I could see all three of these guys as dirty linebackers.

Gary Payton: Could be world class CB or FS, if he cover players as good as he do on the court....and I think his height would get him alot of interceptions and batted balls.

No one's mentioned Dream....hard to say what position he could play.

Realistically, the most logical position would be wide reciever, cause they traditionally are somewhat tall. A 6'6 swingman like kobe, or j-rich could play it I geuss.

And Rafer Alston could be the towel boy

Former Knicks player and Rockets assistant coach Charlie Ward was a Heisman winning quarterback at Florida State before he decided to go into the NBA.

I always thought he should've gotten a shot in NFL....with all stiffs that have come into league to grace the QB position, since 94' .... why not? He couldn't have been much worse.

In the period of time, these are the QBs who were drafted high.....Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, Akali Smith, Cade McKnown, Alex Smith, Joey Harrington, and etc.

Pro Bowl QBs drafted in early part of the draft, since 94.... Peyton Manning (98), Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick, and Carson Palmer.

LeBron was an All-State wide receiver as a junior in high school. With the bulk he added his senior year, he almost certainly would have been a 5 star prospect.

LeAndro Barbosa could probably make a nice cornerback.
